President Donald Trump\u2019s sinking ratings threaten to drag down Republicans in November\u2019s elections, as voters blame him for high prices and a shaky economy, according to an NBC News poll. The president\u2019s approval rating stands at 41% among registered voters, a second-term low in the poll, with a majority, 55%, of voters saying they believe Trump\u2019s policies have hurt the economy. That\u2019s up from 48% in March, before the Iran war.

Democrats hold a 5-point edge in the battle for control of Congress, 50%-45%. Despite the lead, the Democratic Party is still viewed more negatively than Trump and the GOP.
Still, the poll suggests an increasingly gloomy political environment for the GOP. More than 6 in 10 voters say the Iran war has not been worth it. And respondents did not appear to be motivated by Trump\u2019s signature tax and spending legislation he championed last year.

Austin mayor reacts to man injured in ICE shooting
An ICE officer shot and seriously wounded a Venezuelan man as he was delivering food in Austin, Texas, yesterday afternoon, his immigration attorney Kate Lincoln-Goldfinch said. The man, identified by Lincoln-Goldfinch as 28-year-old Wilber Rafael Garc\u00e9s Perez, was in the U.S. illegally and had a final order of removal, a law enforcement source said.
A Texas Department of Public Safety spokesperson said the agency received a request for assistance from ICE for a vehicle pursuit involving a blue Toyota Corolla, but the shooting occurred before DPS troopers arrived at the scene.
Garc\u00e9s Perez, who Lincoln-Goldfinch said lives in Austin, is a DoorDash driver. In an email, a company spokesperson confirmed Garc\u00e9s Perez was making a delivery at the time, adding that DoorDash is investigating and would not release more information \u201cat this time.\u201d

In his first interview since his ex-wife\u2019s mistrial, Patrick Clancy said he thinks he did \u201cthe best I could with what I had at the time\u201d and that he didn\u2019t know much about postpartum illness before Lindsay Clancy killed their three children in 2023. \u201cAnd I live with the outcome,\u201d he told CBS\u2019 \u201c60 Minutes. \u201cI live with it every day.\u201d Read more from the interview.<\/strong><\/a>
Lindsay Clancy\u2019s mistrial has sparked an online frenzy and scrutiny against one juror who others pm the panel said blocked an otherwise unanimous verdict to acquit. Some jurors described the holdout, identified as Michael P. Desronvil, as hostile and disinterested. Desronvil\u2019s lawyer, meanwhile, has asked people to \u201cstay away from his home, stop calling him, and don\u2019t even think about deciphering his location.\u201d
Attorneys and jury experts fear the post-trial frenzy could lead to a \u201cchilling effect\u201d when it comes to seating juries. That includes any possible future trial for Lindsay Clancy. Adding to the controversy was that prospective jurors had been given a questionnaire asking about their criminal history \u2014 and Desronvil reportedly faced a past domestic violence allegation.

Presley Gerber, the son of supermodel Cindy Crawford, has died, a family representative said. He was 27.
Gerber died at a \u201crehab facility,\u201d according to online records of the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner. No cause of death or further detail was given.

A few months ago, I noticed that one of my favorite artists, Sweet Cowboy Blues, made a t-shirt with what has become one of Trump\u2019s catchphrases, \u201cEverything Transgender!
