They\u2019re looking at this administration, recognizing Trump is nuts and saying, emphatically: \u201cWe\u2019re not going to put up with that.\u201d<br \/>Canadians are confronting the reality of an obviously unhinged president better than the Republican Party, about 30% of Americans and a shockingly large swath of U.S. news organizations.<br \/>Consider Trump\u2019s behavior over Labor Day weekend. The 80-year-old president <a href=https:\/\/www.mediaite.com\/online\/trumps-jaw-dropping-labor-day-weekend-posting-blitz-sends-social-media-into-a-spin-25th-amendment-now\/ rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=_blank data-t-l=:b|z|k|\u2691u class=gnt_ar_b_a>posted dozens of AI-generated videos and images on his Truth Social account<\/a> on Sept. 6, ranging from an <a href=https:\/\/www.yahoo.com\/news\/politics\/articles\/them-nightmares-trump-unleashes-ai-183013445.html rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=_blank data-t-l=:b|z|k|\u2691u class=gnt_ar_b_a>AI photo of him with a bunch of robots<\/a> and the words \u201cTHEY WILL NEVER SLEEP AGAIN\u201d to a post saying the state of New Mexico should be renamed \u201cNew America.\u201d<br \/>He shared a cartoon image of <a href=https:\/\/truthsocial.com\/@realDonaldTrump\/posts\/117226609992235526 rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=_blank data-t-l=:b|z|k|\u2691u class=gnt_ar_b_a>himself as a hockey player standing over a fallen-on-the-ice Carney<\/a>, and on Sept. 7 posted an image showing <a href=https:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/administration\/6075255-trump-map-territorial-ambitions\/ rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=_blank data-t-l=:b|z|k|\u2691u class=gnt_ar_b_a>a map of Canada and all of North America in red, white and blue<\/a>, suggesting the United States had taken over the entire continent.<br \/>He also announced on social media, as if by fiat, that <a href=\/story\/news\/politics\/2026\/09\/07\/donald-trump-canada-bombardier\/91650867007\/ rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=_blank data-t-l=:b|e|k|\u2691u class=gnt_ar_b_a>Canadian aerospace giant Bombardier can no longer sell its planes<\/a> in America: \u201cNO MORE SELLING BOMBARDIER IN THE UNITED STATES!\u201d<br \/>Setting aside that Trump can\u2019t just ban Bombardier and that he sounds like an ill-mannered 8-year-old having a temper tantrum, the Canadian company is deeply interwoven in the U.S. economy.<br \/><a href=https:\/\/www.ctvnews.ca\/world\/trumps-tariffs\/article\/trump-targets-canada-on-social-media-a-day-before-counter-tariffs-kick-in\/ rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=_blank data-t-l=:b|z|k|\u2691u class=gnt_ar_b_a>CTV News, citing a statement from Bombardier, noted<\/a>: \u201cBombardier generates \u2018tens of thousands of jobs through our 3,500 direct employees in the U.S and nearly 2,800 U.S.-based suppliers across 47 states,\u2019 along with five U.S. service centres, a parts depot in Chicago and its U.S. headquarters in Wichita.\u201d<br \/>Clearly Carney sees through Trump\u2019s inane gibberish and recognizes that it\u2019s utterly useless to negotiate with a clown. <a href=https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2026\/09\/08\/economy\/trump-carney-canada-us-trade-war rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=_blank data-t-l=:b|z|k|\u2691u class=gnt_ar_b_a>He said recently<\/a>: \u201cWhen the Americans stop doing memes, stop throwing shade, stop trying to be tough and start being serious about having those discussions \u2013 we can have those discussions.\u201d<br \/>That\u2019s exactly the right response to Trump, the addled artificial intelligence meme lord of America. And the people of Canada back Carney, big time. <a href=https:\/\/www.theglobeandmail.com\/canada\/article-canadians-views-trade-deal-nanos-research-survey\/ rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=_blank data-t-l=:b|z|k|\u2691u class=gnt_ar_b_a>A poll conducted for The Globe and Mail<\/a> found 85% of respondents \u201csaid they support or somewhat support Mr. Carney\u2019s rejection\u201d of a proposed trade deal with the Trump administration. And 80% support or somewhat support the retaliatory tariffs.<br \/>Those are eye-popping numbers.
