Trump did not provide specifics about what new economic measures the U.S. could take against Iran, only saying it will be the “most crushing economic operation ever taken against any country.” He also warned that other countries could face consequences if they continue doing business with Iran.

Last week, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent suggested in an interview with Newsmax that significant new economic measures against Iran could be coming. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth also said the U.S. could continue its naval blockade for as long as necessary.
