The two embraced and kissed as an<strong> <\/strong>NBC New York helicopter circled overhead.<br \/>The two eventually made their way down to street level, where they were taken into custody by law enforcement, according to New York Police Department spokesperson Delaney Kempner.<br \/>The climbers told police their names are Angelina Nikolau and Ivan Kuznetsov, according to law enforcement sources.<br \/>It was not immediately clear how the two people ascended to the top of the building, one of the city\u2019s marquee tourist attractions. The couple scaled a 200-foot spire atop the 1,250-foot skyscraper, the sixth-tallest building in the country.<br \/>The climbers were not reported injured, according to police. Authorities are investigating the incident and charges are pending.<br \/>In a statement, a spokesperson for the Empire State Building said that \u201cthe unauthorized incident at the building has been resolved with the constructive and helpful coordination of the NYPD.\u201d<br \/>\u201cThere was at no time danger to tenants, visitors, and Empire State Building Observation Deck guests,\u201d the spokesperson added. \u201cIt is to be emphasized that the Empire State Building Observation Deck, atop the \u2018World\u2019s Most Famous Building\u2019 in the center of New York City, does offer a practical way for the most memorable marriage proposals.\u201d<br \/>Cellphone videos recorded by nearby onlookers captured the confusion at the scene as the pair stood near the building\u2019s needle.
