Neither Canada nor South Africa has ever reached the knockout stage of a World Cup before this tournament, which ensures that the winner today will continue the deepest World Cup run in its history.
This is only the fourth tournament appearance for Bafana Bafana. This is Canada’s third time playing at the men’s World Cup.
