On May 20, Fayetteville Police Department invited parents, families, mentors, educators, and community members for a discussion focused on current teen challenges.
\u201cThe goal was to let our community know that they are not alone. The Fayetteville Police Department and our community partners are here to support families, answer questions, and help guide our youth toward success,\u201d program officials said.
The meeting took place at Fayetteville City Hall where topics included social media, dangers of vaping, teen substance trends, unaccompanied minors, and more. It was an open discussion and encouraged parents and community members to bring questions, concerns, and ideas.
According to officials, the community outreach event was designed to provide support, guidance, education, and open conversation for families navigating the realities of raising middle and high school-aged youth today.
