In New Jersey, for example, locals became outraged when officials said they were raising the price of a train ticket to Metlife Stadium (referred to as the New York New Jersey Stadium for the duration of the tournament) to $105. The same train ride cost <a href=\/story\/sports\/soccer\/2026\/04\/14\/nj-transit-reportedly-planning-charge-100-stadium-world-cup-train-tickets-new-york\/89608953007\/ data-t-l=:b|e|k|\u2691u class=gnt_ar_b_a>less than $13<\/a> during normal times, USA TODAY previously reported.<br \/>The <a href=\/story\/news\/2026\/04\/29\/why-was-logo-covered-at-mercedes-benz-stadium-fifa-is-moving-in\/89852708007\/ data-t-l=:b|e|k|\u2691u class=gnt_ar_b_a>city of Atlanta<\/a>, however, is doing things differently.<br \/>In a recent interview with WSB-TV, Atlanta Falcons owner Arthur Blank said the price of food inside Mercedes-Benz Stadium (referred to as Atlanta Stadium for the duration of the tournament) will remain the same price as any other event. Blank is also the owner of Atlanta&#8217;s MLS team Atlanta United, and the major benefactor behind the new <a href=\/story\/news\/2026\/05\/08\/atlanta-is-now-home-to-u-s-soccer-take-look-at-new-training-facility\/89978368007\/ data-t-l=:b|e|k|\u2691u class=gnt_ar_b_a>Arthur M. Blank U.S. Soccer National Training Center<\/a> which opened last week just south of Atlanta as the new home of soccer in America.<br \/>The stadium is known for its &#8220;fan-friendly&#8221; food pricing, where items like a hotdog are sold for $2, and Coke products come with unlimited refills after the initial $2 price.<br \/>A spokesperson for Mercedes-Benz Stadium confirmed all vendors in the venue will keep their normal pricing, and shared some of the food highlights and costs with USA TODAY:<br \/>The stadium also offers specialty foods that can come at a higher price, like mixed drinks Bruster&#8217;s ice cream, but a family could easily keep their food bill low by sticking to the essentials. A <a href=https:\/\/www.mercedesbenzstadium.com\/all-vendors data-t-l=:b|z|k|\u2691u class=gnt_ar_b_a>full venue menu<\/a> and pricing can be found on the Mercedes-Benz website.<br \/>&#8220;Fans give us their energy, their time, their passion, their resources, their families, whatever it may be, and we need to honor that in the truest sense of the word, whatever we can,&#8221; Blank said in the interview.<br \/>The MARTA train and bus system, Atlanta&#8217;s public transportation, will also not raise prices for their normal passes during the World Cup.<br \/>A <a href=\"https:\/\/itsmarta.com\/buying-using-breeze-cards-tickets.aspx#:~:text=You%20can%20purchase%20Breeze%20cards,consider%20an%20in%2Dperson%20option.\" data-t-l=:b|z|k|\u2691u class=gnt_ar_b_a>Breeze pass<\/a>, which can be purchased online ahead of match day, will cost $2.50 one way to Mercedes-Benz, no different than any other day in Atlanta.<br \/>There are multiple MARTA stations near the stadium, including the newly-named <a href=\/story\/news\/2025\/12\/03\/atlantas-sports-district-marta-station-gets-new-name-what-to-know-before-sec-championship\/87582109007\/ data-t-l=:b|e|k|\u2691u class=gnt_ar_b_a>Sports, Entertainment, and Convention District Station<\/a> just steps away from Mercedes-Benz, the Georgia World Congress Center, State Farm Arena, Centennial Yards, the College Football Hall of Fame, the CNN Center, Centennial Park, the Georgia Aquarium and the World of Coca-Cola.<br \/>Spectators hoping to use MARTA for a match day can use a physical bank card, a mobile wallet, a virtual Breeze card, a physical Breeze card or cash to pay for their ride at any MARTA station.<br \/>\u201cMARTA will be the easiest and most affordable way to get to the matches and to major fan events,\u201d Interim General Manager and CEO Jonathan Hunt said in a statement to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. \u201cWe\u2019re urging all supporters of the beautiful game to let MARTA drive them to the World Cup festivities this summer.\u201d<br \/>Mercedes-Benz Stadium (Atlanta Stadium) will host five group stage matches, a round of 32 match, a round of 16 match and one of the tournament&#8217;s semifinal match.<br \/><em>Irene Wright covers the FIFA World Cup as the Atlanta Connect reporter with USA Today\u2019s Deep South Connect team.
