Officials also said Iran attacked an empty crude oil tanker belonging to the state oil firm as it attempted to pass through the Strait of Hormuz.<br \/>There was no official comment from Iran but the state broadcaster carried a statement blaming \u201cUS military adventurism\u201d for the incident.<br \/>Iran has denied the UAE\u2019s accusations.<br \/>Here\u2019s how officials around the world responded to the attacks:<br \/>The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs said it condemned and denounced \u201cin the strongest terms\u201d the Iranian targeting of civilian and economic facilities in the UAE, as well as a vessel belonging to an Emirati company.<br \/>\u201cThe kingdom affirms its solidarity with the brotherly United Arab Emirates in the measures it takes to preserve its sovereignty, security and territorial integrity, and calls on the Islamic Republic of Iran to cease these attacks,\u201d it added.<br \/>Qatar said it \u201cstrongly condemns the renewed Iranian attacks\u201d and considers the strikes to be a \u201cblatant violation of the UAE\u2019s sovereignty and a serious threat to the security and stability of the region\u201d.<br \/>Qatar also affirmed its \u201cfull solidarity\u201d with the UAE and said it supported \u201call measures taken by the UAE to preserve its sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity\u201d.<br \/>Kuwait\u2019s Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned Iran\u2019s \u201creprehensible aggression\u201d in targeting a UAE oil tanker and deploying drones in a \u201cdirect threat to maritime navigation in the Strait of Hormuz\u201d.<br \/>Iran\u2019s actions were a \u201cclear breach of the principle of freedom of navigation in international waterways, threatening regional security and the safety of global supply lines\u201d, it said in a statement on X.<br \/>The ministry also called for an immediate end to all aggression, and said it would support the UAE and \u201call measures it takes to protect its security and interests\u201d.<br \/>Bahrain\u2019s Ministry of Foreign Affairs denounced the \u201cIranian terrorist attacks\u201d and said it considered the strikes \u201ca dangerous escalation that threatens the security and stability of the region\u201d.<br \/>It also expressed support for the UAE in any retaliatory measures it takes and called on the United Nations Security Council \u201cto take firm and deterrent positions and measures against these repeated and unjustified Iranian attacks\u201d.<br \/>Jordanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Ayman Safadi spoke with his Emirati counterpart, Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and condemned \u201cthe renewed Iranian attacks on the UAE\u201d, according to the Petra news agency.<br \/>Safadi reiterated Jordan\u2019s \u201cabsolute solidarity\u201d with the UAE \u201cin confronting these attacks\u201d. He described the strikes as \u201ca dangerous escalation and a threat to the UAE\u2019s security, stability, territorial integrity and the safety of its citizens and residents, as well as a blatant violation of international law and the UN charter\u201d.<br \/>German Chancellor Friedrich Merz strongly condemned Iran\u2019s attacks and expressed his solidarity with the people of the UAE.<br \/>\u201cTehran must return to the negotiating table and stop holding the region and the world hostage: The blockade of the Strait of Hormuz must end. Tehran must not acquire a nuclear weapon. There must be no further threats or attacks against our partners,\u201d he wrote in a statement on X.<br \/>The office of Prime Minister Mark Carney said in a post on X that \u201cCanada strongly condemns Iran\u2019s unprovoked missile and drone strikes on the United Arab Emirates and stands in solidarity with its people\u201d.<br \/>Carney stated that Canada commends \u201cefforts to protect civilians and civilian infrastructure\u201d and reiterates its call for de-escalation and diplomacy in the region.<br \/>French President Emmanuel Macron condemned Iran\u2019s strikes on the UAE, describing them as \u201cunjustified and unacceptable\u201d and pledging continued French support for allies in the region.<br \/>\u201cAs it has done since the start of the conflict, France will continue to support its allies in the Emirates and in the region for the defence of their territory,\u201d Macron said in a post on X.<br \/>UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer condemned the attacks and called for Iran to engage in talks to prevent any further escalation.<br \/>\u201cWe stand in solidarity with the UAE and \u200cwill continue to support the defence of our partners in the Gulf. This escalation must cease. Iran needs to engage meaningfully in negotiations to ensure the ceasefire \u2060in the Middle East \u2060endures, and a long-term diplomatic solution is achieved,\u201d Starmer said.<br \/>The regional bloc denounced the attack on the Emirati oil tanker \u201cin the strongest terms\u201d, with Secretary-General Jassim Mohammed Al Badawi expressing his full support for any measures the UAE takes \u201cto preserve its sovereignty, security and stability\u201d.<br \/>\u201cThe continuation of these brutal Iranian attacks by targeting ships passing through the strait is piracy and serious extortion of the security of sea lanes and straits,\u201d he added.<br \/>EU Commissioner Ursula von der Leyen denounced the attacks and extended her full solidarity to UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and his people.<br \/>\u201cThese attacks are unacceptable and constitute a clear violation of sovereignty and international law.
