It’s been a busy day of updates in the Ukraine war, with diplomatic efforts to end the war moving quickly.
As we pause our live updates, here’s a brief rundown of everything that’s been happening…
Tomorrow, Zelenskyy will hold a virtual meeting with members of the self-styled coalition of the willing.
European support is becoming evermore vital for Kyiv as Trump continues to criticise what he calls the continent’s “weak leaders” and its failure to secure peace for Ukraine.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy has been a man on a diplomatic mission this week, jumping between London, Brussels, Rome and Kyiv as he prepares to send Ukraine’s revised peace plan to the US.
Tomorrow, things are no different for Ukraine’s president. He’ll be taking part in a virtual meeting of the self-styled coalition of the willing.
Zelenskyy says the meeting will bring together more than “30 countries working with Ukraine to ensure security on land, in the air and at sea”.
Ukraine’s European allies are backing Zelenskyy’s effort to ensure that any peace plan is fair and deters future Russian attacks, as well as accommodating Europe’s own defensive interests.
The task has no doubt been made harder thanks to comments this week from Donald Trump, who called some European leaders “weak” and lambasted his transatlantic counterparts for failing to secure peace for Ukraine.
Zelenskyy and his allies are hoping to bring Trump to Europe this weekend for an impromptu leaders’ summit, though the US president has said this evening that his attendance will be “based on what they come back with: we don’t want to waste our time”.
Russian air defences have shot down two drones en route to Moscow, the city’s mayor said.
Sergei Sobyanin, writing on Telegram, said one drone was downed in the afternoon, with emergency crews dispatched to examine debris on the ground. 
He said air defence crews downed a second drone in the evening, giving no indication of any damage or injuries. 
Donald Trump has just been speaking in Washington DC about the Ukraine peace process during a roundtable discussion with business leaders.
The US president said he exchanged “pretty strong words” with European leaders today during a phone call on Ukraine.
“The leaders of France, we spoke to, and Germany and UK, all very good leaders, very good friends of mine. And we discussed Ukraine in pretty strong words. And we’ll see what happens. I mean, we\u2019re waiting to hear answers before we progress.”
He also suggested that the European leaders have requested he attends a meeting over the weekend in Europe.
“We said, before we go to a meeting, we want to know some things.
“They’d like us to go to a meeting over the weekend in Europe and we’ll make a determination based on what they come back with. We don’t want to waste our time.”
‘Ukrainian people want a settlement’<\/b>
Asked further about what Zelenskyy wants from a potential meeting, Trump pivots and instead speaks about the prospect of elections taking place in Ukraine.
“I do wonder about how long is it going to be until they have an election. It’s a long time, they haven’t had an election in a long time.”
Trump suggests that, according to a poll which he doesn’t cite clearly, “82% of the people are demanding a settlement to be made – Ukrainian people, they want to see it ended”.
With his closing comments on Ukraine, he says: “This is a war we need to get settled, but it takes two to tango.”
The EU’s enlargement commissioner was shown around a Ukrainian thermal power plant damaged by recent Russian missile and drone attacks today.
Marta Kos was given a tour of the site alongside Olha Yukhymchuk, Ukraine’s minister for European Integration.
As part of her two-day visit to Ukraine, Kos plans to discuss Ukraine’s EU accession with the bloc’s member states at an informal meeting of ministers in Lviv during her trip.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy says the 20 points which form Ukraine’s revised peace proposal make up a “fundamental document”.
It comes following reports from Bloomberg that Ukraine has now formally sent the plan back to Washington.
The original US draft proposal – widely leaked to media last month – had 28 points, and was seen as favouring Russia. 
Ukraine has since sought to change some key clauses, such as territorial issues and security guarantees, following talks with US and European negotiators.
Zelenskyy has said the new proposal now comprises 20 points, after some “obvious anti-Ukrainian points were removed”.
In his nightly address, Ukraine’s president said his country is also drafting two additional documents: the first on US security guarantees and the second on the economy and reconstruction. 
Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said in his evening address that he discussed the possibility of holding elections with Ukraine’s parliament.
This comes after Donald Trump told Zelenskyy in an interview this week to hold elections soon – prompting the Ukrainian president to say elections could happen within 60-90 days if allies guaranteed their security.
Zelenskyy also addressed Trump’s comments tonight, saying holding elections under martial law was not easy – and added that “pressure on this issue is definitely not what we need”.
Ireland\u2019s prime minister said that drones that appeared near Dublin shortly after the arrival of Volodymyr Zelenskyy last week were not a threat to the Ukrainian leader.
However, Micheal Martin said their presence was concerning.
“The drones were not a threat to President Zelenskyy’s aircraft – that needs to be clear – because it had safely landed quite some time prior to this incident,” he told parliament.
“Circumstances are suggestive of this being part of a Russian-inspired hybrid campaign against European Union and Ukrainian interests,” he added.
Ukraine and the US have held the first set of talks aimed at drafting a document for Ukraine’s reconstruction and economic post-war recovery, Volodymyr Zelenskyy said earlier.
Describing the latest talks as “productive”, Zelenskyy said the group discussed “key issues for recovery, various mechanisms, and visions of reconstruction”.
The US was represented by treasury secretary Scott Bessent, Larry Fink, CEO of BlackRock, the world’s biggest asset manager, and Jared Kushner, Donald Trump’s son-in-law and former senior adviser.
“There are many developments that, with the right approach, could work in Ukraine,” Zelenskyy says.
He adds that Ukraine aims to advance work on recovery in parallel with security discussions, arguing that long-term economic stability depends on a credible post-war settlement.
