President Donald Trump<\/a> has upped his attacks on the Democratic lawmakers who posted a video telling service members to \u201crefuse illegal orders.\u201d<\/a>
Trump shared several screenshots of social media posts criticizing the lawmakers on Sunday afternoon. In one Truth Social post<\/a>, Trump shared a screenshot of a post referring to the Democratic Party as a \u201cDomestic Terrorist party.\u201d In another post<\/a>, Trump shared a screenshot in which a social media user appeared to call the lawmakers \u201ctraitorous communists.\u201d
Trump called for the Democratic lawmakers<\/a> to be jailed in a pair of late-night Truth Social<\/a> posts on Saturday. This comes after he claimed<\/a> Thursday the video was \u201cSEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL,\u201d and in another post claimed<\/a> such behavior is \u201cpunishable by DEATH.\u201d
The Democratic lawmakers responded to Trump\u2019s threats on Thursday, writing<\/a> that what\u2019s \u201cmost telling is that the President considers it punishable by death for us to restate the law.\u201d Trump later claimed<\/a> he was \u201cnot threatening death,\u201d but thinks \u201cthey\u2019re in serious trouble.\u201d
Senator Elissa Slotkin, who appeared in the video, told ABC News<\/a> on Sunday that she thinks Trump is \u201ctrying to get us to shut up because he doesn\u2019t want to be talking about this.\u201d Representative Jason Crow, who was also in the video, told CBS News<\/a> that Trump\u2019s response has been \u201cvery disturbing.\u201d
Senator Elissa Slotkin, a Democrat who urged members of the military and intelligence community to \u201cdefy illegal orders\u201d in a video<\/a> with her colleagues this week, called President Donald Trump\u2019s response a \u201ctool of fear.\u201d
On Truth Social this week, Trump labelled the video \u201cSEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR,\u201d and at one point claimed<\/a> that sedition is \u201cpunishable by DEATH.\u201d
“He’s trying to get us to shut up because he doesn’t want to be talking about this,” Slotkin said Sunday on ABC News\u2019 This Week<\/em><\/a>.
“In fact, I would argue that one of the things that he’s been doing by repeating it and talking about it is trying to distract us from the big stories of last week, which were the [Jeffrey] Epstein files and then the economy,\u201d she added.

Trump accused a group of Democratic lawmakers, which included Crow, of \u201cseditious behavior\u201d after they filmed a video calling on service members to \u201crefuse illegal orders\u201d this week.
CBS News Correspondent Margaret Brennan asked Crow about threats he had received since, and if any of them were credible.
\u201cWe don’t know, Margaret, we’re going to take these seriously, but it’s very disturbing stuff when you have the President of the United States threatening to execute and to hang and to arrest using this rhetoric, people listen to it,\u201d Crow replied.
This comes after Crow said<\/a> that a bomb threat was made against his office in Aurora, Colorado, on Friday.
