Time Magazine<\/em><\/a> <\/em>reported Saturday that Greene privately told allies that she has considered running for president. This comes after the Republican announced she\u2019s resigning from the House in January<\/a> amid her ongoing feud with President Donald Trump.<\/a>
Greene responded to Time Magazine<\/em>\u2019s report directly on Sunday, writing in a lengthy rant on X <\/a>that she\u2019s \u201cnot running for President\u201d and never said she wanted to. The Republican went on to blast the so-called \u201cPolitical Industrial Complex,\u201d claiming it has \u201cdestroyed our country.\u201d
Meanwhile, Trump has called for Democrats who urged the military to defy illegal orders<\/a> to be jailed in a pair of late-night Truth Social<\/a> posts.
This comes after a group of Democratic lawmakers published a video<\/a> telling members of the military and intelligence community to \u201crefuse illegal orders\u201d on Tuesday. Trump claimed<\/a> Thursday it was \u201cSEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL,\u201d and in another post claimed<\/a> such behavior is \u201cpunishable by DEATH.\u201d
The Democratic lawmakers responded to Trump\u2019s threats on Thursday, writing<\/a> that what\u2019s \u201cmost telling is that the President considers it punishable by death for us to restate the law.\u201d Trump later claimed<\/a> he was \u201cnot threatening death,\u201d but thinks \u201cthey\u2019re in serious trouble.\u201d
The White House proposed having U.S. military planes drop leaflets over Venezuela<\/a>\u2019s capital in an operation aimed at intensifying pressure on the country\u2019s president, Nicol\u00e1s Maduro<\/a>, according to a report.
In what could soon be the latest U.S. escalation<\/a> against Venezuela, the reported plan entails planes dispersing leaflets in Caracas that contain details about the $50 million reward for information leading to Maduro\u2019s arrest <\/a>and conviction, sources told the Washington Post<\/em><\/a>.
