President Donald Trump<\/a> has called for Democrats who urged the military to defy illegal orders<\/a> to be jailed in a series of late-night Truth Social<\/a> posts.
Trump labelled<\/a> the Democratic lawmakers \u201cTRAITORS\u201d who \u201cSHOULD BE IN JAIL RIGHT NOW\u201d after accusing them of telling the military to \u201cDISOBEY MY ORDERS.\u201d In another post<\/a>, he accused these Democrats of committing a \u201cCRIME OF SERIOUS PROPORTION.\u201d
This comes after a group of Democratic lawmakers published a video<\/a> telling members of the military and intelligence community to \u201crefuse illegal orders\u201d on Tuesday. Trump claimed<\/a> it was \u201cSEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL,\u201d and in another post claimed<\/a> such behavior is \u201cpunishable by DEATH.\u201d
The Democratic lawmakers responded to Trump\u2019s threats on Thursday, writing<\/a> that what\u2019s \u201cmost telling is that the President considers it punishable by death for us to restate the law.\u201d Trump later claimed<\/a> he was \u201cnot threatening death,\u201d but thinks \u201cthey\u2019re in serious trouble.\u201d
Meanwhile, Trump also once again called for federal intervention in Chicago on Saturday, citing \u201cmassive crime\u201d in the area. The president accused Governor JB Pritzker and Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson of \u201crefusing Federal Government help for a situation that could be quickly remedied\u201d in a Truth Social<\/a> post.
Trump\u2019s post comes after a 14-year-old boy was killed and eight other teens were injured in separate shootings late Friday, according to the Chicago Sun-Times<\/em>.<\/a>
The Trump administration has presented Kyiv with a 28-point proposal to end the war in Ukraine.
The plan <\/a>would force Kyiv<\/a> to give up land while compensating the United States<\/a> for upholding the peace.

New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani has addressed concerns that President Donald Trump could send the National Guard to the city on NBC\u2019s Meet the Press<\/em><\/a><\/a>.
Mamdani said <\/a>he told Trump that he trusts the NYPD to deliver on public safety. But Mamdani didn\u2019t respond to a question about whether Trump ruled out sending in the National Guard during their meeting on Friday at the White House.
\u201cI made it very clear what we wanted to do was to deliver public safety and affordability \u2014 the NYPD would be the ones to do so,\u201d Mamdani said.
This comes after Trump told reporters Saturday that he has no immediate plans to send troops to New York City, but it remains a possibility.
