In his last moments, we were fortunate enough to have been able to surround him with loving, caring, peaceful words, thoughts, prayers and intentions as he left this earth,&#8221; his family said in a statement. <br \/>&#8220;We cherish all of his finest memories, his laughter, and celebrate his strengths and kindness that he bestowed upon others. The magnitude of his passing is of epic proportions, and beyond comprehension. Reflecting on all of his incredible life achievements, Ace\u2019s memory will continue to live on forever!\u201d the statement continued.<br \/>The cause of death was not immediately released. <br \/>Frehley \u2014 better known as \u201cSpace Ace\u201d or \u201cSpaceman\u201d by devoted Kiss fans \u2014  had recently fallen in his studio and was taken to the hospital, according to a post on his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DPC36UYjcZv\/\" target=\"_blank\">social media on Sept. 25<\/a>. His doctors advised him not to travel, and he canceled some tour dates that month, the post said. <br \/>Last week, Frehley canceled the remainder of his 2025 tour dates \u201cdue to some ongoing medical issues,\u201d according to his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DPd_0ongGqq\/\">social media<\/a>.<br \/>Frehley, a Bronx native, is considered one of the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.guitarworld.com\/features\/the-100-greatest-guitarists-of-all-time\/4\" target=\"_blank\"> greatest metal guitarists of all time.<\/a><br \/>He joined Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons and Peter Criss to form Kiss in New York City in 1973. The group, known for daring black-and-white make-up, costumes and electrifying guitar solos took the world by storm, sparking a metal fever with hits like \u201cI Was Made for Lovin\u2019 You,\u201d \u201cBlack Diamond,\u201d \u201cRock and Roll All Nite,\u201d and \u201cLick It Up.\u201d<br \/>What started as a rock band turned into a cultural phenomenon and a legacy, widely regarded as one of the most influential music groups of all time. <br \/>Kiss changed its lineup over the years, with Frehley leaving for the first time in 1982 to form his own band, Frehley\u2019s Comet. <br \/>He pursued a solo career which included hits such as \u201cNew York Groove\u201d released in 1978, and \u201cRock Soldiers\u201d in 1987.<br \/>The Spaceman later returned to Kiss&#8217; orbit, rejoining the band in 1996 for a wildly acclaimed reunion tour and left again in 2002, closing out his reunion run by performing at the closing ceremony of the Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, Utah.<br \/>The original four Kiss members were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2014.<br \/>Music never stopped for Frehley. Last year, he released his solo album \u201c10,000 Volts,\u201d which<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo.php?fbid=954308942720775&#038;id=100044250348395&#038;set=a.225797245571952\" target=\"_blank\"> topped Billboard\u2019s hard music and rock album charts.<\/a><br \/>Born Paul Daniel Frehley to a musical family, he was self taught \u2014 and went on to inspire millions with his guitar prowess.<br \/>\u201cI\u2019ve never taken a lesson, and my sense of melody came from singing in the church choir. So, whatever I have, it can\u2019t be taught. You\u2019ve gotta have it in you.
