Multiple state outlets reported that the structure caps &#8220;an engineering feat three years in the making.&#8221; <em><strong>See video of the bridge at the top of this story.<\/strong><\/em><br \/>According to the BBC, local officials reported it cuts driving time between the river canyon&#8217;s two sides from two hours to two minutes.<br \/>The bridge stands almost<a href=\/story\/news\/world\/2017\/01\/04\/worlds-highest-bridge-china\/96150054\/ target=_blank rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" data-t-l=:b|e|k|\u2691u class=gnt_ar_b_a> as high as China&#8217;s Shanghai Tower<\/a>, a skyscraper that soars 2,073 feet into the air.<br \/>It opened to traffic on Sunday, Sept. 28, both outlets reported, and it has a glass walkway.<br \/>A cafe\u0301 rests atop one of the structure&#8217;s towers, which is about a half-mile in the air.
