Donald Trump has said he believes Ukraine can regain all the land that it has lost since the 2022 Russian invasion in one of the strongest statements of support he has given Kyiv.
Writing on Truth Social after meeting Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the UN on Tuesday, the US president said \u201cUkraine, with the support of the European Union<\/a>, is in a position to fight and WIN all of Ukraine back in its original form\u201d.
Trump echoed those comments during a meeting with French president Emmanuel Macron shortly after. Trump said Ukraine\u2019s ability to fight back might prove that Russia is a \u201cpaper tiger\u201d.
\u201cI feel that way. I really do feel that way. Let them get their land back,\u201d the president added.
The US president delivered his upbeat assessment by claiming Russia<\/a> was in big economic trouble, after meeting Zelenskyy in New York.
He wrote: \u201cAfter getting to know and fully understand the Ukraine\/Russia Military and Economic situation and, after seeing the Economic trouble it is causing Russia, I think Ukraine, with the support of the European Union<\/a>, is in a position to fight and WIN all of Ukraine back.
\u201cWith time, patience, and the financial support of Europe and, in particular, Nato, the original Borders from where this War started, is very much an option. Why not?\u201d
