The University of Nevada, Reno has again been recognized as one of the nation’s top institutions in the 2026 U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges rankings, released Sept. 23, 2025.<\/p>\n

The University is ranked No. 192 among national universities, climbing 12 spots from last year. Universities and colleges that are ranked offer a full range of undergraduate majors, master’s and doctoral programs and are committed to producing groundbreaking research.
The University is also ranked No. 104 among Top Public Schools, jumping nine spots in the rankings. Public institutions in this category operate under the supervision of state governments and are funded, in part, by tax dollars and subsidies from the state.
The U.S. News & World Report rankings evaluate more than 1,700 colleges and universities, using up to 17 factors to measure academic quality and graduate success. Measures contributing to the U.S. News’<\/em> 2026 rankings, released Sept. 23, 2025, include graduation rate performance, faculty resources, student selectivity and preparedness, financial resources, alumni giving, reputation based on input of high-school counselors and a peer-assessment survey with university leaders nationally.
U.S. News publishes the Best Colleges rankings each year to provide prospective students and their families with the comparative merits of the undergraduate programs at America’s colleges and universities. The rankings offer detailed information about the institutions and data on factors<\/a> such as graduation rates, graduate indebtedness and post-graduate earnings.
