Chelsea<\/a> beat Paris Saint-Germain 3-0 to win the first edition of the expanded FIFA Club World Cup<\/a>.<\/strong>
Cole Palmer<\/a> struck twice in the opening half before summer signing Joao Pedro<\/a> scored his third goal of the tournament to stun PSG<\/a>, the reigning European champions.
Chelsea are Club World Cup champions for the second time after they first won the tournament in 2021.
Before Lionel Messi lifted the trophy at the 2022 World Cup, he was given a bisht to wear on stage by Gianni Infantino and co.
Will they do the same with Reece James today? And what would the American version look like? A cowboy hat? An NFL jersey? A McDonald's Happy Meal?

FIFA haven't been able to do anything quickly today, so no surprise to see that we are no closer to the trophy lift.
I'd say I feel sorry for the PSG players being forced to wait out on the pitch but, with the way they behaved, they deserve to sit there akin to a child being sent to the naughty step.
Even the Chelsea players look bored of waiting…
A word for the PSG players, who are being made to sit on the field and wait for what feels like an eternity as the trophy stage and accompanying inflatable Club World Cup trophy are being set up.
After a miserable match and a poor lack of sportsmanship after the final whistle, they must want nothing more than to simply escape this surrounding and head home.
Credit must go to Enzo Maresca who, for so much of the season, came under real \u2014 and totally justified \u2014 scrutiny from Chelsea fans.
After a strong start to the campaign, they faltered and it looked as though they might miss out on the top five. But, when all is said and done, they have secured a return to the Champions League, won the Conference League trophy and are now the world champions.
Not a bad debut season for the Italian!
Speaking of the trophy presentation, I remain extremely curious as to how the new Club World Cup trophy is going to be hoisted.
Lifting a typical cup-style trophy is simple enough. Lifting this "orbital structure" nonsense is another thing entirely.
The men (and women) in black that we saw before the game are back out on the pitch at MetLife Stadium to get the surface ready for the trophy presentation.
I can't quantify it, but there are so <\/em>many people out on the pitch.
Some of them are Chelsea staff and some of them are in charge of arranging the presentation. I'm not sure it necessarily needs hundreds of people like we can see at MetLife, but this is going to be a pretty elaborate show by the looks of it.

The match ended nearly 10 minutes ago and yet the stadium is still roughly 90 per cent full. Part of that is down to the Chelsea fans outnumbering their PSG counterparts today, but still, Gianni Infantino has to be pleased with the interest being shown in sticking around for the trophy presentation.
Not only was their performance abject, but the behaviour of the PSG players was pathetic in that second half, and beyond.
It is all well and good being gracious winners, but the mark of a true champion is how you carry yourself in defeat.
The PSG players, led by manager Luis Enrique, have shown themselves to be very sore losers today and the manager will likely receive a hefty ban for what he did to Joao Pedro.
So many fans are bouncing up and down that you can feel the motion all the way up here in the clouds (otherwise known as the MetLife press box).

The fans in blue that have made the trip to East Rutherford are enjoying themselves and they have been joined at that end of the pitch by their Chelsea heroes.
Once the post-match scuffle was resolved, the celebrations begun and they will go long into the evening.
This is all very embarrassing from Paris Saint-Germain and Luis Enrique has shown himself up at full time.
There were clearly some choice words shared after the whistle and the PSG manager, who should know a lot better, lashed out at Joao Pedro.
Gianluigi Donnarumma seemed to get banned for his manager's petulant behaviour with Enzo Maresca going over to calm down his compatriot.
