The move came to nothing, but it was startling how much space Nuno Mendes found between the lines just now. Lucas Beraldo played a nice pass from the back, fine, but Mendes suddenly had about 10 metres of space in every direction. Remarkable. Madrid are all over the place.

I'm not sure how the absence of Dean Huijsen, who joined Real Madrid just before this tournament, has completely ruined the organisation of their defence. They look susceptible every time the PSG players run at them and those two mistakes from Asencio and Rudiger are totally unforgivable at this level.
That red card for Huijsen in the late chaos against Dortmund is looking costlier by the minute.
