Paris Saint-Germain have beaten Bayern Munich<\/a> 2-0 in an incident-filled quarter-final at the Club World Cup that saw Jamal Musiala suffer a horrific injury. <\/strong>
Musiala was taken off the pitch on a stretcher after suffering a severe ankle injury<\/a> in a collision with Gianluigi Donnarumma at the end of the first half.
The game in Atlanta remained scoreless until Desire Doue found the breakthrough<\/a> in the 78th minute, wrongfooting Manuel Neuer at the near post.
PSG were then reduced to nine men, as Willian Pacho<\/a> and Lucas Hernandez<\/a> each received straight red cards in the space of 10 minutes.
Ousmane Dembele wrapped the game up<\/a> with PSG's second goal in stoppage time, though Bayern had a penalty disallowed by VAR<\/a> in the final minutes of the match.
PSG will face Real Madrid or Borussia Dortmund<\/a> in Wednesday's semi-final.

And Doue is certainly not fearing either Real Madrid or Dortmund in the semi-final.
Clutching his Player of the Match award, Doue spoke to DAZN about the importance of the victory.
💬 "It was really important for us to win this game because we lost against Bayern Munich in the first half of the season in the Champions League. It was important to beat them today, so we are happy to have done that."<\/em><\/strong>
Marquinhos, speaking to DAZN after the match, was asked about Dembele dedicating his goal to Jota.
💬 "It was very difficult to hear the news. We have got Portuguese players in the dressing room and they were with him only a few weeks ago playing in the Nations League. So we wanted to cheer them up. Jota deserves all the tributes in the world. You don't want to see accidents like that.<\/em><\/strong>

Yellow cards are wiped after the quarter-final, so the only way players can be suspended for the final is by being shown a red card in the semis.
PSG haven't lost any players to yellow-card suspensions for the semi-final but they will be without Willian Pacho and Lucas Hernandez.
Two very different, but equally stupid, moments of madness from those two to give Anthony Taylor little choice other than to send them off. The initial ban for that punishment is one match but FIFA can \u2014 and probably will \u2014 extend it to cover the potential final too.

Something else lost in all the late chaos was the fact that Thomas Muller has played his last match for Bayern Munich.
He has been with the club since 2000, has made over 750 appearances for the first team and won every piece of silverware on offer.
What a career at the club, and what a player.
Real Madrid or Dortmund await in the semi-final, two of Hakimi's former teams. He was, however, not getting drawn into any discussion over who he would rather face at MetLife Stadium on Wednesday.
Achraf Hakimi provided yet another attacking contribution for PSG, laying on the pass for Dembele's insurance goal. He spoke to DAZN at full time.

Another Player of the Match accolade for Desire Doue.
It wasn't his best performance for 76 minutes and his substitution was actually being prepared when he provided the key contribution.
And it was a lovely finish from the youngster, feigning to go across Neuer and into the left corner and then sitting down the Bayern goalkeeper from range by reversing his effort inside the right-hand side post.
The 20-year-old already has so many huge moments in his short career.

I don\u2019t think Donnarumma has a case to answer for the tackle on Jamal Musiala. It was a horrible accident, but still the kind of goalkeeping action that happens hundreds of times each season without incident.
Gianluigi Donnarumma was being jeered by the Bayern fans in the second half. There was a large contingent of Bayern supporters directly behind the PSG goal.
Despite the enthralling chaos and entertainment of the second half, it is impossible to forget how the first half ended.
Jamal Musiala suffered a severe ankle injury after an innocuous challenge from Gianluigi Donnrumma. The initial replay \u2014 which should not be sought on the internet \u2014 and the players' reactions made it immediately clear that it was a horrible injury.
Kane and Hakimi were among the players to rush to Musiala's aid and usher on the physios while Donnarumma looked visibly shaken as he left the pitch for half-time.
Such a cruel way for Musiala's season to end with an injury that may well rule him out for much of next season too.
A touching moment that may have gone under the radar in all the chaos of Ousmane's Dembele late goal.
The Frenchman hung back from his team-mates, sat on the turf and imitated Diogo Jota's goal celebration from the FIFA franchise video games.
Bayern brought a really high performance level, yet were still beaten without scoring by this resolute PSG side.
Luis Enrique's men have now won their last five knockout matches in international competitions, encompassing the end of their UEFA Champions League run and their run to the semi-finals here.

I'm not sure I can remember a second half playing out with so many different talking points.
Both teams raced out of the traps after half-time and counter-attacking opportunities presented themselves.
Doue lit the touch paper with a lovely finish that deceived Neuer and then the PSG defenders decided to play their own version of Mortal Kombat. Pacho's 'tackle' on Goretzka was awful and Hernandez's elbow on Guerreiro was brainless.
They will be suspended for Wednesday's semi-final and I suspect their bans will be extending by FIFA.
PSG are a terrific team, but that scoreline does not reflect how the match played out.
Kompany couldn't have wished for a better showing from his players, but the finishing was the difference between the two teams.
There were big chances for Olise and Kane \u2014 as well as two offside goals \u2014 but they couldn't find a way past Donnarumma.
PSG missed a few big opportunities of their own, but Doue and Dembele showed the Bayern forwards how it was done with two really nice efforts.
The team of the 2024-25 season has undoubtedly been Paris Saint-Germain.
The way they romped to their first-ever Champions League title was brilliant and the fact that they have followed that up with a deep run here is impressive too.
