Leitha Jr. said there had been 13 fatalities, without offering additional information, and warned there could be more.<br \/>Patrick said victims, including children, had already been located, \u201csome in cars washed out upstream.\u201d<br \/>\u201cWe don\u2019t know where those bodies came from,\u201d he said, without ruling out that some may have come from the camp.<br \/>\u201cThis is a mass casualty event,\u201d said Freeman Martin, Texas\u2019 director of public safety.<br \/>Patrick said 18 helicopters and 400 to 500 rescue workers are taking part in the search-and-rescue mission, and that some individuals had already been rescued from trees.<br \/>Parts of Kerr County got a little more than 10 inches of rain over 24 hours, <a href=\"https:\/\/forecast.weather.gov\/product.php?site=NWS&#038;product=PNS&#038;issuedby=EWX\" target=\"_blank\">the National Weather Service said<\/a> at 4 p.m. Friday. Farther north,  Llano County got 8 1\/2 inches over that period.<br \/>Patrick said he has been in touch with President Donald Trump, who said the White House would send any federal resources officials needed.<br \/>Earlier in the day Camp Mystic, where roughly 750 children were staying, issued a statement telling parents: \u201cIf your daughter is not accounted for, you have been notified,\u201d while indicating girls located in other parts of the camp had been<strong> <\/strong>found safe.<br \/>The officials said the nearby highway was washed away and that the area remained without power, water or internet and was \u201cstruggling\u201d to get more help.<br \/>\u201cPlease continue to pray and send any help if you have contacts to do so,\u201d the officials wrote.<br \/>The camp, <strong>around 70 miles northwest of San Antonio, <\/strong>is for girls between the ages of 7 and 17, and it was due to celebrate its 100th anniversary next year. <br \/>It\u2019s located near the Guadalupe River, which authorities said surged as much as 22 feet in just half an hour Friday morning to a height of 30 feet in the nearby town of Comfort in Kerr County, breaking a record that had stood for decades.<br \/>The Department of Homeland Security <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/TriciaOhio\/status\/1941222073092931992\" target=\"_blank\">said Friday afternoon<\/a> that Secretary Kristi Noem had activated the U.S. Coast Guard and the Federal Emergency Management Agency \u201cto try to get these girls to safety\u201d and was coordinating with state and local leaders.<br \/>Sen. President Trump committed ANYTHING Texas needs.\u201d<br \/>The force of the water in Ingram in Kerr County smashed the windows of homes and ripped off doors and paneling, video from <a href=\"https:\/\/news4sanantonio.com\/news\/local\/kerrville-officials-urge-caution-as-severe-weather-disrupts-july-4th-celebrations-texas-kerr-county-flooding-heavy-rains-storms-vehicles-tourists\" target=\"_blank\">NBC affiliate WOAI of San Antonio<\/a> showed. <br \/>Footage on social media showed an SUV swept away by raging floodwaters in Kerrville. But in terms of how many, exactly how many are missing and unaccounted for, we\u2019re not sure about that number, but we have a bunch of them we\u2019re trying to get back.\u201d<br \/>Flood warnings throughout the state remain in place through the weekend.<br \/>\u201cThere is an ongoing threat for possible flash flooding from San Antonio to Waco for the next 24 to 48 hours, in addition to the continued risks in west and central Texas,\u201d Lt.
