Dortmund are looking to join fellow Bundesliga<\/a> side Bayern Munich<\/a> in the last eight, while Monterrey are the last team standing from North America.

Something to make note of if this game gets chippy early. Dortmund's players jogged straight through Monterrey's rondo set up on their way back to the dressing room. Some Monterrey players stopped to give them some rather sinister stares.
This is an enormous pitch. Dortmund could've avoided their opponents but chose not to.
There are plenty of players on both teams that will miss the quarter-final with another yellow card today.

Tonight's match marks the 14th meeting all-time between a team from Mexico and one from Europe at the Club World Cup.
The European clubs have gone unbeaten in the first 13 meetings, winning 10 and drawing three.
Over the past 11 meetings, the only time a team from Europe failed to win against a Mexican team was Monterrey\u2019s 1-1 draw with Inter in the group stage of this year\u2019s tournament.
This year marks Monterrey's sixth appearance in the Club World Cup. In their previous five, none of which included group stages of course, they progressed from just two of their seven knockout matches.
Borussia Dortmund have been on a strong run since the middle of April, going unbeaten over their past 10 matches in all competitions.
They've racked up eight wins alongside two draws during that stretch, which comprises games from the Club World Cup, the Champions League and the Bundesliga.

Unsurprisingly, Borussia Dortmund are heavy favorites to advance from this tie.
The boffins over at Opta have Dortmund's likelihood of progressing as 75 per cent, leaving just 25 per cent for Monterrey.
When considering the result at 90 minutes, Opta project the Bundesliga side winning at 65 per cent, Monterrey at 16 per cent and extra time being needed at 19 per cent.

Monterrey broke open a tight match with three goals in a matter of nine first-half minutes and beat Japan\u2019s Urawa Red Diamonds 4-0 at the Rose Bowl to clinch their spot in the knockouts.
Nelson Deossa opened the scoring in the 34th minute with a wicked long-range hit that played tricks on Urawa goalkeeper Shusaku Nishikawa. German Berterame followed soon after with a more conventional finish, opening his hips and curling a low right-footed shot inside the far post to double the advantage. The best of the bunch followed in the 39th minute, with Jesus \u201cTecatito\u201d Corona launching a 30-yard blast that left Nishikawa no chance. Berterame added a sliding finish from close range in the closing moments to tack on the final tally.

Jobe Bellingham led Borussia Dortmund to a 1-0 win over Ulsan of South Korea to book their place in the last 16.
In an expansive 3-4-3 formation, the German side controlled the game, particularly in the first half, with Karim Adeyemi and Bellingham causing problems behind striker Serhou Guirassy, who was getting on the end of chances.
Ulsan goalkeeper Jo Hyeon-woo kept out Guirassy and Pascal Gross from point-blank range in the opening 45 minutes, in which Dortmund took 20 shots with eight on target.
Their eventual breakthrough came in the 36th minute as Bellingham squared to Svensson, and he finished by driving the ball low from inside the box.
After Bellingham and Adeyemi came off around the 60-minute mark, Dortmund were less threatening, besides the odd spark from Julien Duranville, and effectively saw out the game.

Monterrey played River Plate to a 0-0 draw in a tetchy affair at the Rose Bowl. River Plate dominated the match, leading Monterrey in expected goals 1.68 to 0.13 and in shots 18 to three.
The Mexican side's goalkeeper Esteban Andrada played a vital role in securing the point, making multiple key saves in the second half. Kevin Castano was sent off for the Argentinians in second-half stoppage time.
Borussia Dortmund ran out 4-3 winners over Mamelodi Sundowns in their second match at the Club World Cup.
Lucas Ribeiro put the Sundowns into the lead in the 11th minute courtesy of a mazy run before firing the ball past Gregor Kobel. But Dortmund were not behind for long. A mistake from Ronwen Williams allowed Felix Nmecha to level the game. Serhou Guirassy then put Dortmund ahead in the 34th minute with a header before Jobe Bellingham extended Dortmund\u2019s lead just before half-time with a right-footed finish.
The game seemed to be beyond the Sundowns on the hour mark when Khuliso Mudau accidentally sent the ball into the back of his own net. But a goal just two minutes later from Iqraam Rayners gave the South African side hope of a comeback. And in the 90th minute, Lebo Mothiba increased that hope by scoring from close range. However, Dortmund held out to take the three points.

Sergio Ramos rolled back the years to help Mexican side Monterrey draw with Inter in their opening game.
Five-time Concacaf Champions League winners Monterrey took the lead after 25 minutes when Ramos, the 39-year-old former Real Madrid defender, lost his marker and out-jumped two Inter defenders to head in the opening goal.
A clever clipped free kick from Kristjan Asllani set up Inter\u2019s equaliser, with Lautaro Martinez finishing after the ball was played back across the box on 42 minutes.
In the second half, Sergio Canales, the former Real Sociedad and Real Betis playmaker, struck the post from 30 yards, with Inter goalkeeper Yann Sommer beaten. Martinez had a fine finish ruled out soon after when he strayed offside. The Inter captain fired over another chance and in an entertaining finish, Nelson Deossa had the chance to win for Monterrey \u2014 but shot into the side-netting.

Borussia Dortmund were frustrated by Fluminense in their Club World Cup opener, with neither side able to make a breakthrough in a 0-0 draw.
The German side looked sluggish throughout while the Brazilians were organised and defended well.
The match also saw Jobe Bellingham, younger brother of Real Madrid and England star Jude, make his debut for Dortmund after joining from Sunderland.
