Iran’s Revolutionary Guards says it is attacking Israeli air bases used to strike Iranian territory, according to the Quds News Network.
“These strikes will continue in a sequential, complex, multi-layered and gradual manner,” it says.
Donald Trump is considering a US strike on Iran, according to multiple current and former administration officials.
The president is considering a range of options, including a possible strike, following a meeting with his national security team inside the Situation Room, the officials told our US partner network NBC News.
A senior Houthi official has told Al Jazeera Mubasher TV that the group will support Iran against Israel like they did Gaza.
Mohammed al-Bukhaiti, a member of the Houthis’ political bureau, also said the group is coordinating with Tehran during its ongoing military escalation with Israel.
The Houthis have carried out intermittent rocket attacks on Israel since it began attacking Gaza.
On Sunday, the Houthis said they targeted Israel’s Jaffa in coordination with Iran, the first time an Iran-aligned group publicly announced joint cooperation.

John Healey, the defence secretary, said a decision to send additional British warplanes and other military assets to the Middle East could be used “to help support our allies”.
Speaking at an army conference in London, he repeated the government position that the UK has so far not been involved in the Israeli attacks on Iran.
“We have not played any part in the Israeli attacks on Iran,” he said.
“We have been consistent in recognising and supporting the right of Israel to self-defence.
“We have been consistent and strong in our determination through diplomacy to avoid Iran getting the nuclear capabilities. 
“And the deployment of the Typhoons [warplanes] and other military assets the prime minister has announced are part of the moves to reinforce de-escalation in the region, to reinforce security in the region and may also be used to help support our allies.”

A bipartisan resolution seeking to stop Donald Trump from attacking Iran has been introduced to Congress in the US.
Republican House representative Thomas Massie has teamed up with Democrat politicians like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, representing an unlikely alliance.
“The Constitution does not permit the executive branch to unilaterally commit an act of war against a sovereign nation that hasn’t attacked the United States,” Massie said.
Massie added: “Congress has the sole power to declare war against Iran. 
“The ongoing war between Israel and Iran is not our war. 
“Even if it were, Congress must decide such matters according to our Constitution.”
The resolution echoes a warning issued by senior Democrat Senator Bernie Sanders a little earlier (see our post at 19.19).
Earlier, we brought you some strong comments from German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, speaking from the G7 summit in Canada.
In our 15.49 post, we explained he thought Iran’s leadership had been weakened and might never regain its previous strength.
Now, Merz has gone further, in comments given to German broadcaster ZDF.
When asked by an interviewer if the world should be grateful Israel is doing the “dirty work” in dealing with a regime perceived as a “major disruptor” globally, Merz agreed with the words used. 
He said: “I’m grateful to you for using the term ‘dirty work’. That is the dirty work Israel is doing. For all of us. 
“We are also affected by this regime.”
He said Iran’s ruling regime had “brought death and destruction to the world, through attacks, murder and slaughter, through Hezbollah, through Hamas”. 
Merz continued: “What happened on October 7, 2023, in Israel – without the regime in Tehran, that would never have been possible. 
“The supply of drones to Russia from Tehran? Yes, it’s dirty work that Israel did there. 
“All I can say is: I have the greatest respect for the fact that the Israeli army had the courage to do it, and that the Israeli leadership had the courage to go through with it. 
“Otherwise, we might have continued to see this regime’s terror for months and years – and possibly then with a nuclear weapon in hand.”
We’re now getting these pictures from the city of Ramat Gan, in the Tel Aviv district of Israel.
They show people taking shelter in an underground station, amid regular air raid sirens and warnings today because of attacks launched by Iran.
In our previous post, we explained a fresh wave of Iranian attacks had just been launched.
Donald Trump has said that Iran can’t have a nuclear weapon no fewer than a dozen times since taking office again in January, US State Department spokeswoman Tammy Bruce has just been telling a news briefing.
Going back further, she said Trump has said the same thing no fewer than 40 times as far back as 2011.
She also spoke about how the US has set up a Middle East task force for US citizens and personnel in countries neighbouring Iran and Israel. 
The task force is operating 24 hours a day, she said.
She urged US citizens to check the official travel advice, while cautioning against travel to Israel or Iraq.
“Don’t travel to Iran under any circumstances,” she added. 
She advised checking travel.state.gov for the latest updates and advice.
Asked by journalists what to expect from US policy moving forward, Bruce pointed several times to Donald Trump’s social media posts, insisting the president is “accessible” and “clear”.
“I refer you back to what he writes and what he posts on a regular basis – which is helpful to people like me, and I think the world at large as well,” Bruce said.
Iran has launched more missiles towards Israel, the Israel Defence Forces says.
“Defence systems are working to intercept the threat,” it added.
Earlier, the Iranian Revolutionary Guards told residents of Haifa and Tel Aviv to evacuate.
The public have been instructed to shelter, Israeli authorites added.
Air raid sirens are expected to sound shortly.
