The PM has called it appaling and intolerable.&quot;<br \/>&quot;We have made it very clear we must get more aid into Gaza&quot;, they say, adding that &quot; the unimpeded entry of assistance at scale to meet the enormous needs in Gaza is critical&quot;.<br \/>Israel has recently begun to allow limited aid into Gaza after a three-month blockade.<br \/>It is prioritising distribution through the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), which is backed by Israel and the US but widely condemned by humanitarian groups. <br \/>The UN&#x27;s human rights chief Volker T\u00fcrk said last week that Palestinians were being presented with the &quot;grimmest of choices: die from starvation or risk being killed while trying to access the meagre food that is being made available&quot;.<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/articles\/c8jgk1w320lo\" class=\"ssrcss-f6h2dj-InlineLink e1kn3p7n0\">As the BBC&#x27;s international editor Jeremy Bowen writes<\/a>, the GHF system means that the people must travel through a war zone in the ruins of southern Gaza to collect a box of rations. Distribution seems to be chaotic, and so far has repeatedly broken down into a free for all.<br \/>The GHF has more than once paused its operations to deal with overcrowding and safety concerns.<br \/>And there have been a number of deadly incidents near aid points set up by the new organisation. At the weekend, at least four Palestinians were killed by Israeli gunfire as they were heading to get food. <br \/>Last week, the head of the International Committee of the Red Cross told the BBC that Gaza had become <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/articles\/cvgq0gy82wjo\" class=\"ssrcss-f6h2dj-InlineLink e1kn3p7n0\">worse than &quot;hell on earth&quot;.<\/a><br \/><span class=\"ssrcss-1gp5o89-ImageWrapper etflsgg1\"><span class=\"ssrcss-1105681-Placeholder etlorgc0\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/ichef.bbci.co.uk\/ace\/standard\/128\/cpsprodpb\/\/vivo\/live\/images\/2022\/4\/30\/fbb3c095-004e-46cf-a0d5-e83ef4b25389.jpg.webp\" width=\"64\" height=\"64\" class=\"ssrcss-11yxrdo-Image edrdn950\"\/><\/span><\/span><span><strong>Joe Inwood<\/strong><br \/>World news correspondent<\/span><br \/>Bright lights were flashing and screeching noises caused some to cover their ears the moment the Madleen was boarded, according to footage captured by an onboard security camera.<br \/>A voice, which appears to belong to Brazilian activist Thiago \u00c1vila, can be heard repeatedly telling the crew to \u201cditch your phones\u2026 phones in the water\u201d. Shortly after, someone can be seen hurling a device off the side of the boat. A laptop is also thrown overboard.<br \/>He tells everyone to \u201cassume positions\u201d, before giving a thumbs up to someone outside the boat. It is not clear who he is signalling to, although it would appear to be someone on another vessel.<br \/>He can then be seen saying into a phone: \u201cWe are being boarded now\u2026 it\u2019s very important you know, no one is wounded now. No one was wounded when they boarded our boat.\u201d<br \/> A woman\u2019s voice says: \u201cIf anything happens to us, this is a war crime.\u201d<br \/>The mood onboard appears calm, with the crew\u2019s hands in the air.<br \/>Three and a half minutes after the start of the released recording, another boat appears in the back of the shot. Another voice can be heard saying \u201ccalm down\u2026 calm down everyone\u201d. It is not clear who is speaking.<br \/>Ten seconds later, Israeli military personnel can be seen walking onto the boat, crouching down and talking to one of the crew. Shortly after, the footage ends.<br \/>This almost four minutes of footage was put online by the Freedom Flotilla Coalition. It was understood to have been sailing near the Egyptian coast at the time.<br \/>The yacht&#x27;s operator, the Freedom Flotilla Coalition campaign group &#8211; of which activist Greta Thunberg is a part &#8211; posted a photo showing people in life jackets sitting with their hands up on Telegram.<br \/>&quot;SOS! The volunteers on Madleen have been kidnapped by Israeli forces,&quot; it said.<br \/><b class=\"ssrcss-cgjb6m-Keyword e2vephq0\">Shortly afterwards<\/b>, the Israeli foreign ministry said the &quot;unharmed&quot; crew were now &quot;safely&quot; making their way to Israel.<br \/>And, just after <b class=\"ssrcss-cgjb6m-Keyword e2vephq0\">08:00 local time<\/b>, Israel&#x27;s defence minister said the intercepted vessel would be taken, along with its crew, to the Israeli port city of Ashdod.<br \/>We had been keeping an eye on the Freedom Flotilla Coalition&#x27;s tracker, but the last live update was recorded <b class=\"ssrcss-cgjb6m-Keyword e2vephq0\">around 03:00 local time<\/b>.<br \/>We&#x27;re closely monitoring for updates of the ship&#x27;s whereabouts.
