It struck several people inside and exited through the building&#8217;s west wall, the agency said.<br \/>The driver was the only person in the vehicle and has been hospitalized for injuries sustained in the incident.<br \/>State police said the deadly crash was under investigation.<br \/>Chatham police called the deaths a &#8220;terrible tragedy.&#8221; <br \/>&#8220;If you believe in the power of prayer, please take a moment to pray right now for the entire Chatham community,&#8221; police said in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/p\/Chatham-IL-Police-Department-100064364934868\/#?hge\" target=\"_blank\">a statement<\/a>.<br \/>Gov. J.B. Pritzker <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/GovPritzker\/status\/1916980104195907622\" target=\"_blank\">said on X<\/a> that he is monitoring the situation.<br \/>\u201cLet\u2019s wrap our arms around the community tonight as we receive updates on the situation,\u201d he said.<br \/>The village of Chatham, about 12 miles south of Springfield, has a population of more than 14,000. NBC affiliate WAND of Springfield reported that the building across from a city water tower and park is leased or owned by the camp.\u00a0<br \/>A representative for the camp did not immediately respond to a request for information. It states on <a href=\"https:\/\/ynotoutdoors.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">its website<\/a> that it was launched by a Springfield couple in 2002 to help keep children active and stimulate their minds in summer.<br \/><em>This is a developing story.
