<\/a>President Donald Trump<\/a> demanded Governor of Maine<\/a> Janet Mills issue a \u201cfull throated apology\u201d to him after the two got into a heated dispute over the president\u2019s transgender athlete policy earlier this month.
Trump took to Truth Social on Saturday to make his demand, days after the Department of Education found that Maine had violated Title IX protections under the Trump administration by allowing transgender girls to compete on girls\u2019 sports teams and use girls\u2019 facilities.
The president said the \u201cstate of Maine\u201d apologized on behalf of the governor after Mills confronted Trump at a governors\u2019 meeting at the White House earlier this month, promising to take the president\u2019s executive order against transgender student-athletes to court.<\/a>
\u201c…We have not heard from the Governor herself, and she is the one that matters in such cases,\u201d Trump wrote on Truth Social.<\/a>
\u201cTherefore, we need a full throated apology from the Governor herself, and a statement that she will never make such an unlawful challenge to the Federal Government again, before this case can be settled,\u201d he added.
In addition to demanding an apology from Mills, Trump has used his social media platform to ramp up attacks on federal judges who have ruled against the implementation of some of his executive orders<\/a>.
Democratic lawmakers have reportedly grown fearful about the future of their party and the midterm elections as they confront frustrated constituents who are angry at what they perceive as Democrats\u2019 lack of action against President Donald Trump and his administration.

The Trump administration has cut three offices designed to help migrants saying they are a \u201croadblock\u201d to immigration reform.
The offices were all part of the Department of Homeland Security, which is the agency responsible for pushing enforcement of President Donald Trump\u2019s immigration policies.
DHS spokeswoman Tricia McLaughlin said in a Friday statement that it was implementing a \u201creduction in force\u201d for three offices: the Office for Civil Rights and Civil Liberties, the Office of the Immigration Detention Ombudsman, and the Office of the Citizenship and Immigration Services Ombudsman.

The Department of Homeland Security said it would revoke legal protections for approximately 532,000 Cubans, Haitians, Nicaraguans and Venezuelans who have come to the United States since October 2022 under a humanitarian parole program.
