The 22-year-old man\u2019s father said he <a href=\"\/news\/uk\/home-news\/ukraine-russia-james-scott-rhys-anderson-dad-torture-b2653018.html\">feared his son would be tortured<\/a>, while the UK Foreign Office confirmed it was \u201csupporting the family of a British man following reports of his detention\u201d.<br \/>Meanwhile, the Pentagon said the US had seen no signs of <a href=\"\/news\/world\/europe\/north-korea-soldiers-ukraine-russia-putin-kursk-latest-b2640887.html\">North Korean troops inside Russian-occupied parts of Ukraine<\/a> or that they are heading in that direction.<br \/>Senior US officials have confirmed Ukraine has received clearance from the Biden administration to launch long-range ATACMS missiles on targets in Russia.<br \/>The US has changed the guidance and allowed Kyiv to use them \u201cto strike particular types of targets\u201d around Kursk, said John Kirby, national security council coordinator for strategic communications at the White House.<br \/>\u201cRight now, they are able to use ATACMS to defend themselves, you know, in an immediate-need basis. And right now, you know, understandably, that\u2019s taking place in and around Kursk, in the Kursk Oblast.
