Today, 7 July 2025, marks a historic moment: the first ever World Volleyball Day is officially here! This global celebration, powered by each and every one of you across the Global Volleyball Movement, commemorates the first public demonstration of the sport by William G. Morgan on 7 July in 1895.

World Volleyball Day invites the global volleyball community to unite in celebration of the sport. From beaches and courts to parks and playgrounds, players and fans are encouraged to showcase how volleyball inspires, unites and empowers communities everywhere.
The reception has been incredible, with the World Volleyball Day video posted last week, featuring volleyball and beach volleyball stars, having been viewed over 2.2 million times!

Here’s how you can take part:
1) Keep the ball in the air, your way!
2) Post on your socials and use the hashtag #WorldVolleyballDay
3) Submit your video to fivb.stitcht.io/worldvolleyballday
4) Enter our challenge and storytelling giveaway to be in with a chance of winning one of several signed Olympic volleyballs.
