The Toronto Blue Jays and Los Angeles Dodgers are facing off in Game 5 as Dodger Stadium hosts World Series baseball for the final time in 2025.
With the Series tied 2-2, tonight determines who will head to Toronto one game away from becoming world champions.
The Blue Jays jumped all over Blake Snell to start the game, as Davis Schneider hit a home run on the first pitch and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. went back-to-back two pitches later. Kiké Hernández responded with a solo shot of his own in the third inning to get L.A. on the board.

Those plays down the right-field line have given Teoscar Hernández trouble all year long. He didn’t get the best jump, didn’t take the best route, and tried to slide to grab it.
It wound up a triple in the corner – right after the Dodgers just cut the lead in half.
▶️ Blake Snell is looking for a shutdown inning and Daulton Varsho immediately puts that in jeopardy. He loops a ball down the right-field line that Teoscar Hernández makes a sliding attempt at but he whiffs and the ball goes past him into the corner. Davis Schneider’s dad captured the leadoff homer on camera.
When Shohei Ohtani lost his helmet flailing at a Trey Yesavage splitter …
Shelley Duncan: Damn!
Bobby Scales: Filth.
Earlier, we asked: with Vladimir Guerrero Jr.’s father, Vladimir Sr., the American League MVP in 2004, only one other MVP also had a son who was on a World Series roster. Both father and son were Dodgers. A clue: their World Series years were 1941 and 1963.
Can you name that father-son duo?
He did not play in the World Series, but MLB’s World Series media guide includes him on their roster.
And if anyone answered that question correctly, I salute you!

Freakin’ Kiké. That dude is Robert Horry. Doesn’t even play in the regular season then figures out a way to dominate the postseason.

The Dodgers needed to see the ball up against Trey Yesavage up. Kiké Hernández got a fastball up, and didn’t miss it. Let’s see if this jolts the offense.

Mookie Betts’ wide throw on what should've been an inning-ending double play just cost Blake Snell seven pitches. Extra important with Snell and the Dodgers having little margin for error.
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is locked. It’s the takes for me. When a dude takes pitches the way he is right now … forget about it.
