Today is World Heart Day. The day is observed every year on the 29th of September to raise public awareness about cardiovascular diseases, their prevention and their global impact. In a social media post, Union Health Minister J P Nadda said that World Heart Day highlights the importance of cardiovascular health and encourages proactive measures to prevent heart-related illnesses. He said it provides a vital platform to spread awareness about maintaining a strong and healthy heart through balanced nutrition, regular exercise, and stress management. The Minister said that by adopting healthy lifestyles, individuals can significantly reduce the risk of heart disease and improve overall well-being. Mr Nadda said the day inspires communities to prioritise early detection, timely treatment, and heart-friendly habits for a longer, healthier life.
