U.S. News & World Report recently released their latest rankings of the best national universities entering the 2026-27 school year.
Included on that list was The University of Alabama, who jumped slightly in this year’s rankings within the Top 200 national universities. Among the other notables for Alabama was also an in-state ranking of third, which trails only Auburn University and The University of Alabama at Birmingham.
The SEC also has five schools who are ranked within the Top 100 nationally overall, per U.S. News & World Report, a number of which saw notable jumps in the rankings compared to this time last year. A vast majority of the SEC’s 16 schools are public institutions, while one is private.
