University’s online programs rank among the nation’s best across seven categories
UMass Dartmouth’s online programs are among the nation’s best in seven categories, according to the 2026 U.S. News & World Report rankings, released today.
The university’s online bachelor’s programs placed 117th overall among 348 qualifying institutions nationwide. In a separate ranking highlighting services for student veterans, the programs ranked 73rd in the country, reflecting UMass Dartmouth’s continued focus on affordability and support for student veterans.

Online undergraduate and graduate programs in the Charlton College of Business posted notable gains, with the online bachelor’s in business programs rising into the top 6% nationally, ranking 15th overall and second highest among New England institutions.
The online MBA climbed 16 places to 59th nationwide, while online master’s programs in accounting (MSA), healthcare management (MSHM), and technology management (MSTM) rose nine spots to 37th in the U.S. These rankings place Charlton’s online graduate offerings within the top 17% of programs in their respective categories.
“The upward movement of our online business programs reflects the momentum we’ve built through intentional design and strong industry alignment,” said Charlton College of Business Dean Madan Annavarjula. “These rankings show that Charlton students are gaining an education that is both academically rigorous and directly relevant to today’s business landscape, while positioning the college as a leader in New England and beyond.”
The College of Engineering‘s online master’s in computer science program earned strong recognition in U.S. News’ information technology category, which evaluates online master’s programs in computer engineering, computer science, information systems, information technology, and software engineering. The program ranked 30th nationally, a 15-position improvement over last year, and stands as the highest-ranked public university program in New England.
The College of Nursing and Health Sciences‘ online master’s in nursing ranked 44th among 201 eligible programs nationwide, making it the fourth-highest ranked program in New England.
