We spoke to Russia’s ambassador to the UK yesterday, aired last night on The World with Yalda Hakim.
In an interview with our lead world news presenter, Andrei Kelin pointed the finger at the UK when he was asked about Ukraine’s weekend drone attacks.
“[This] kind of attack involves, of course, provision of very high technology… which only can be done by those who have it in possession. And this is London and Washington,” he said.
Yalda Hakim will be joined later by our international affairs editor Dominic Waghorn and military analyst Michael Clarke to dissect his remarks, as well as the situation on the battlefield and in the diplomatic sphere.
Send your questions to us in the box at the top of this page, and we will try to get through as many as possible at 2pm – tune in then.
A British government minister has declined to say if the UK was involved in a Ukrainian drone strike after the Russian ambassador partially blamed Britain for the attack.
More than a hundred drones were used to attack sites inside Russia over the weekend, leading to more than 40 warplanes being destroyed.
Speaking to The World With Yalda Hakim on Sky News following the attack, Russia’s UK ambassador warned it could risk escalating the conflict to “World War III”.

Russia has acknowledged its attacks in Ukraine overnight.
In a statement released by the Ministry of Defence, Moscow said its forces struck Ukraine in response to “terrorist acts”.
This refers to Ukraine’s recent attacks within Russia, most notably its daring mission to bomb airfields deep within the country.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy said three people have been killed – all rescue workers – with 49 injured, though these figures may rise.
Kyiv’s mayor Vitali Klitschko said earlier four people had died in the capital, though Ukrainian officials now say the figure stands at three.
Here’s the Russian MoD’s statement in full:
“Tonight, in response to the terrorist acts of the Kyiv regime, the Russian Armed Forces carried out a massive strike with high-precision long-range air, sea and land-based weapons, as well as attack UAVs, on design bureaus, enterprises for the production and repair of weapons and military equipment of Ukraine, workshops for the assembly of attack drones, training centres for flight personnel, as well as warehouses of weapons and military equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“The goal of the strike was achieved. All designated objects were hit.”
Following earlier reports of Ukrainian strikes in the Russian regions of Saratov and Ryazan – see 9.30 – a regional governor has now spoken out.
Roman Busargin said an industrial enterprise was attacked by drones in the city of Engels, causing a fire.
Video on social media, which Reuters news agency said it has verified, shows a fire and huge cloud of black smoke.
Busargin did not specify what kind of industrial site was hit.
A state of emergency was introduced in January in Engels after a Ukrainian drone strike hit an oil depot serving a nearby base for Russian nuclear bomber planes.
That caused a fire that took days to put out.
Busargin said an apartment block was also struck, with no casualties reported.
This is the scene in Ternopil this morning, following widespread Russian attacks overnight.
Rescue workers are on the scene, with firefighters putting out flames.
More from the overnight attacks, this time in Russia.
According to Ukraine’s general staff, its military struck airfields in Saratov and Ryazan, in western Russia.
They also said they hit fuel reservoirs.
“The Ukrainian Defence Forces launched a preemptive strike,” they said in a statement.
“On the eve of the massive enemy attack, enemy airfields and other important military facilities were hit.”
With reports still coming in of damage around Ukraine, this map does not necessarily show every part of the country that came under attack overnight.
But it does give a sense of the scope of the assault, which Ukraine says stretched from east to west.
Russia attacked towns and cities across Ukraine overnight, according to authorities.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy has just said that assault was formed of more than 400 drones and 40 missiles.
So far, 49 people have been reported injured, he said, while the number of people killed could still rise from the current figure of three.
All were rescue workers, he added.
Earlier, officials said four people were killed in Kyiv.
“They targeted almost all of Ukraine,” Zelenskyy said.
“Russia must be held accountable for this. Since the first minute of this war, they have been striking cities and villages to destroy life.”
He repeated calls for pressure on Russia, and warned “giving the war more time” becomes “complicity and accountability”.
“We must act decisively,” he said.

Ukraine’s recent attacks risk escalating the conflict to “world war three”, Russia’s UK ambassador told us yesterday, as he partly blamed the UK.
