Welcome to the Daily Briefing. Here’s Friday’s news:
Nicole Fallert and Jane Onyanga-Omara here.
President Donald Trump is making another bid to curtail birthright citizenship after the Supreme Court ruled his earlier effort was unconstitutional, announcing executive orders limiting who qualifies for automatic citizenship and cracking down on so-called “birth tourism.” Trump’s new push to deny citizenship to some children born in the United States is more narrowly tailored and would impact fewer people.
Little League World Series
The 2026 Little League World Series continues Friday after as North Carolina (3-0) beat Florida (2-1) 5-2 Thursday, setting the stage for this weekend’s championship. See photos from yesterday’s games.
