Planning a trip to Florida? Or if you live here, looking for a new place to go? The U.S. News & World Report released its lists of best hotels and best resorts in the U.S. and named these Florida hotels among the best in the nation.
Aqualina Resort & Residences On the Beach in Sunny Isles Beach was No. 2 for both Best Hotels in the USA for 2025 and Best Resorts in the USA for 2025, coming in behind the Four Seasons Resort Hualalai in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, but with room prices about $700 lower. Three of the top five resorts and two of the top five hotels were in Hawaii.
U.S. News & World Report analyzed more than 30,000 hotels in the U.S., Europe, Canada, Mexico, Bermuda and the Caribbean, the site said.
The media company raved about Aqualina’s five-star service, the extra care given to guests, the luscious accommodations and the four in-house restaurants.
“Guests can’t help but keep the compliments coming,” the review said. “Travelers say the resort staff takes extra care to personalize each experience.”
The one drawback they noted about the ultra luxury Mediterranean-villa-style resort: there are only 98 guest rooms and suites in this spa resort about 10 miles north of Miami Beach so getting in might present a problem.
With that ranking, it’s not surprising that Aqualina Resort & Residences On the Beach was also named the No. 1 Best Hotel in the Continental U.S., the No. 1 Best Resort in the Continental U.S., the No. 1 Best Hotel in Florida, the No. 1 Best Hotel in Miami Beach, the No. 1 Best Resort in Florida and the No. 1 Best Resort in Miami Beach.
There’s not another Florida business on the top hotels list under No. 18, Four Seasons Hotel At The Surf Club in Surfside and The Breakers Palm Beach at No. 25.
The Sunshine State fared better on the top resorts list, with The Breakers Palm Beach coming in at No. 14, Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort at No. 15, The Ritz-Carlton Naples at No. 18, and The Ritz-Carlton Orlando Grande Lakes in Orlando at No. 25.
