See which games were inducted into Strong Museum’s World Video Game Hall of Fame – WHEC.com

May 8, 2026 by quixnet

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The video games Angry Birds, Dragon Quest, FIFA International Soccer, and Silent Hill have all reached legendary status. The Strong National Museum of Play has inducted those four games into its World Video Game Hall of Fame.
The museum announced this year’s inductees on Thursday. Those games beat out eight other finalists: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Frogger, Galaga, League of Legends, Mega Man, PaRappa the Rapper, RuneScape, and Tokimeki Memorial.
A group of video game experts from around the world, along with votes from the public and from people at a game developers conference, chose this year’s inductees.
Since 2015, the hall of fame has recognized video games that have reached an iconic status, longevity, and global reach. It also honors games that have influenced entertainment, pop culture, or society in general.
Last year, the games Defender, GoldenEye 007, Quake, and Tamagotchi were all inducted. You can see a list of all inductees here and at the museum’s ESL Digital Worlds exhibit.
