Simon Fraser University Pipe Band from Vancouver, led by Pipe Major Alan Bevan, became Grade 1 World Champions today, August 15, 2026. This was the first time in 17 years they have won the G1 Worlds title since 2009, and the first Worlds title under Alan Bevan’s leadership.
Over the two days SFU won three of the four events, losing the Friday MSR with a seventh place.
St Laurence O’Toole won the Overall Drumming and the Drumming MSR with the Drumming Medley won by Inveraray & District. The Overall MSR was won by Inveraray and the Overall Medley won by Simon Fraser University.
The Champion of Champions for 2026 is Field Marshal Montgomery Pipe Band, and who also scoop the Champions of Champions for Drumming.
