Real Madrid are leading Borussia Dortmund 3-2 in the last Club World Cup quarter-final at MetLife Stadium.
Gonzalo Garcia scored in the 10th minute for his fourth goal of the tournament, justifying his selection over Kylian Mbappe. And the other Garcia, Fran, added the second goal soon after, finishing nicely from Trent Alexander-Arnold's low cross.
There was a chaotic ending to the match with Maximilian Beier and Kylian Mbappe exchanging superb volleys before Dean Huijsen was sent off for denial of a clear goalscoring opportunity. Serhou Guirassy stepped up and scored the penalty.
This game is a repeat of the 2024 Champions League final with a place in the semi-final against PSG on the line.

Winning 3-1 and in stoppage time you can never do that. First big mistake by Huijsen as a Real Madrid player, very important because his absence would be very important against an opponent like PSG in the semi-final.
Bad game to leave early. We have had two goals and a penalty so far in added time.
90+6' Real Madrid 3-1 Borussia Dortmund
After a second half that saw very little happen, everything is happening in stoppage time! Guirassy is suddenly in on Madrid's goal and Huijsen pulls him down. The ref immediately shows him a straight red card, meaning he'll be suspended for the semi-final!
90+4' Real Madrid 3-1 Borussia Dortmund
Mbappe surely seals Madrid's place in the semi-final with his first goal of the tournament! It was some finish, an acrobatic scissor kick at the back post.
90+2' Real Madrid 2-1 Borussia Dortmund
Dortmund have a bit of hope! Beier collects a loose ball in the box and fires it into the far corner of the net with a lovely shot. He doesn't celebrate one bit, nor does he race back to the halfway line. I wonder how much belief he has that Dortmund can find another goal in the closing minutes…

Valverde forces a save from Kobel from a tight angle before Guler sends the follow-up shot wide of the target.
We're into five minutes of stoppage time here.

Chukwuemeka skips inside the Madrid box and looks to thread the ball into the far corner. Courtois doesn't look too bothered as it rolls just beyond the post.

Nmecha tries quite an optimistic shot from well outside the Madrid box and badly misses the target.
Dortmund look just about out of ideas here.
Another Mexican wave from the crowd in the closing stages. Not my cup of tea, but good luck to them.

Madrid make their final two subs, bringing on Rodrygo and Raul Asencio in place of Gonzalo Garcia and Aurelien Tchouameni.

Julien Duranville only came on in the 63rd minute but is forced to come off after suffering what appears to be a shoulder injury. He's replaced by Carney Chukwuemeka.

With a quarter-hour left in normal time, we've hit the second-half cooling break.
An opportunity for Alonso and Kovac to give their sides new tactical instructions.

Modric collects the ball at the top of the box and shoots for the near corner but Kobel makes the save.
The Croatian legend has received big ovations from the crowds in America all tournament long. The fans would surely love to see him score here today.
