European giants Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich are facing off at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia in the quarter-final of the Club World Cup.
Jamal Musiala suffered a significant injury to his left ankle at the end of the first half and left the pitch on a stretcher.
Desire Doue scored the game's lone goal in the 78th minute, wrongfooting Manuel Neuer at the near post. PSG were reduced to 10 men just four minutes later, however, as Willian Pacho received a straight red card for a reckless tackle on Leon Goretzka.
Given the strength of these two teams, whoever wins this tie will be well fancied to go all the way. The victor will face Real Madrid or Borussia Dortmund in Wednesday's semi-final.

90+2' PSG 1-0 Bayern Munich
Another dreadful decision from a PSG defender in the closing stages of this game.
Substitutes Lucas Hernandez and Raphael Guerreiro were chasing a loose ball and the Frenchman decided to land an elbow on his opponent's jaw.
A baffling decision for a PSG team who lost their second defender of the match to a red card!

90+1' PSG 1-0 Bayern Munich
Time is very quickly running out for Bayern at this Club World Cup, though I'm sure the PSG fans feel that the conclusion to this game is taking an age!
The Germans' latest foray into the final third ended with Upamecano aiming a cross into the box but, as he was off balance, Donnarumma was able to hold on with relative ease.
87' PSG 1-0 Bayern Munich
A second goal of the day for Bayern Munich that is immediately disallowed for offside.
Upamecano teased a really nice cross into the heart of PSG penalty area and Kane put it away very nicely with his head. But the England captain had gone early after PSG sprung a perfectly timed offside trap.
I'd be shocked if that is Kane's last chance of the game, though.
86' PSG 1-0 Bayern Munich
What does Pacho think he’s protesting? High, late, dangerous; a red card, without question, and no need for any PSG incredulity whatsoever. A dreadful tackle on Goretzka.
Either Bayern Munich score or this will be Thomas Müller’s last game for the club.
85' PSG 1-0 Bayern Munich
That was really poor from Pacho, letting his team-mates down with a rush of blood to the head.
The 10 men of PSG, who have brought on defender Lucas Beraldo for Kvaratskhelia, now have five minutes plus stoppage time to hold onto their 1-0 lead.
They are going to come under real pressure from a Bayern team who have introduced Thomas Muller and, as you saw, Goretzka. Coman and Pavlovic made way.
83' PSG 1-0 Bayern Munich
I'm seated next to the PSG social media team and communication staffers. They're sweating, anxious. They angrily protest calls and put their head in their hands when PSG miss a chance. Douré's goal sent the group of nearly 10 individuals into delirium.
Yeah, this game matters.

A horrible challenge from Pacho on substitute Leon Goretzka and he has been shown a straight red card!
Anthony Taylor took his time, but made the correct decision in the end — the PSG defender can have no complaints after showing his studs on Goretzka's shin.
80' PSG 1-0 Bayern Munich
We finally have the opening goal in this enthralling quarter-final tie, and it was a good one.
Neves led the charge for PSG and rolled the ball back towards Doue at the top of the box. It looked for all the world that he would go for the left corner on his left foot, but his decision to reverse his effort into the bottom right corner completely outfoxed Neuer.
The Bayern goalkeeper had taken a step to his right, so could only watch longingly as the strike rolled past him.
78' PSG 1-0 Bayern Munich
No one wanted to see the dive, but everyone wants to see that from the PSG wonderkid!
77' PSG 0-0 Bayern Munich
Not what anyone wants to see, that.
Doue, clearly aware that he was not going to reach the ball under pressure, threw himself to the ground.
Anthony Taylor is suffering no fools and immediately reaches for his yellow card. A good decision from the Premier League referee, who has done well so far.
75' PSG 0-0 Bayern Munich
Having spoke so glowingly of Neuer earlier on, he very nearly just away this quarter-final for Bayern.
A loose pass was cut out Kvaratskhelia 35 yards from goal and, all of a sudden, PSG had an open goal to attack. Neuer reacted with a great slide tackle but the ball dropped for Dembele who took aim from 25 yards.
It was such a weak effort and, with the goal gaping, rolled narrowly wide of the target. A huge let-off for Bayern and Neuer!

This is a collector's item!
With PSG tearing away down the Bayern Munich right, the last player I expected to see snapping in with an immaculately timed sliding challenge was Kane. And it was an important one — it was right on the edge of the penalty area and Mendes was looking threatening.
The England captain did, however, embarrass himself a little afterwards as he went down clutching his face after minimal contact from Kvaratskhelia, though he did win the free kick.
71' PSG 0-0 Bayern Munich
A huge cheer from the PSG fans inside Mercedes-Benz Stadium as Dembele is stripped and ready to enter the action.
He has replaced Barcola who, after a sharp first half, had struggled to affect this second half.
69' PSG 0-0 Bayern Munich
There has been plenty of quality in this second half but also lots of breaks for some pretty unnecessary fouling.
The latest foul was a costly one for Laimer, albeit accidental. He pushed out in front Doue with his left foot and made connection with the ball, but also caught the PSG winger's face.
The first yellow card of the game and that means he will miss the semi-final if Bayern get there.
66' PSG 0-0 Bayern Munich
No one on the pitch has had more than Olise's four shots in this match, but he has been uncharacteristically wasteful in front of goal.
All four of those chances were pretty decent looks at goal but they were either straight at Donnarumma or, like the last one, a few yards over the crossbar.
Bayern are creating lots of chances, but they cannot afford to keep wasting them against such a quality opposition.
63' PSG 0-0 Bayern Munich
This has been such a high-quality game, I suspect exactly the kind of game Gianni Infantino wanted. Although we do see these match-ups in the UEFA Champions League every season…
In PSG's penalty area, Olise tore his way infield and had a good look at goal but could only curl his surprisingly tame effort straight into Donnarumma's clutches. Then, in an instant, the Parisians were flying forward at the other end.
An exceptional cross-field pass was trapped by Doue and he raced towards goal. A few stepovers later and he was able to aim a low pass across the six-yard box but no one had gambled so Bayern survived.

Manuel Neuer has been terrific for Bayern at this tournament and has had an excellent game so far, full of prime-era saves.
That's notable, because he has not had a good couple of years since breaking his leg on a skiing holiday and has shown his age in a way that has had some Bayern fans urging the club to move on. A reminder, so far, of just what a good goalkeeper he remains at 39.
57' PSG 0-0 Bayern Munich
Considering they lost one of the best attacking players to that horrible injury before half-time, Bayern are still looking a real threat to this PSG defence.
Kane hasn't had much of a look in the penalty area today — a header that he sent over the bar aside — but he has been excellent in the Germans' build-up.
This fluid frontline looks so good when it's working. Now their task to break this resolute PSG backline.
53' PSG 0-0 Bayern Munich
To the credit of the players, they have found a way to keep up the intensity of this match and it has been an electric start to the second half.
Counter-attacks are being launched at both ends of the pitch and the latest saw Coman streaking away towards goal from a lovely threaded pass from Kane.
Marquinhos, though, hared after the Frenchman and closed the angle superbly before he had chance to have a go at goal. Ultimately, Coman was forced too wide and his left-footed effort was easily saved by Donnarumma.
Brilliant recovery defending from Marquinhos.
