Chelsea are leading Palmeiras 1-0 in this Club World Cup quarter-final at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.
Cole Palmer opened the scoring in the 16th minute with a well-taken finish into the bottom corner from the edge of the penalty area.
Palmeiras eliminated fellow Brazilian side Botafogo in the round of 16 to reach this stage, while Chelsea progressed from a chaotic weather-delayed match in Charlotte against Benfica.
The winner of this match will face Fluminense in the semi-final.

Giay takes exception to Cucurella and gives him a light shove, which prompts Cucurella to theatrically fall down. The referee isn't interested in rewarding either man's behaviour, and rightly so.
Two minutes are added on to the end of the first half.

Giay finds an unmarked Vanderlan arriving late at the far post and it's a massive opportunity to level the score, but Vanderlan heads into the ground allowing Sanchez an easy claim on the bounce.
41' Palmeiras 0-1 Chelsea
Gusto picks up the first yellow card of the match after sliding through the trailing leg of Micael after the Brazilian had eluded him with a nifty turn.
38' Palmeiras 0-1 Chelsea
Roque and Allan are both unmarked in front of Chelsea's goal, but they get in each other's way and completely fail to corral the incoming cross.
The flag goes up for offside, sparing their blushes, and replays show they weren't remotely close to being onside.
34' Palmeiras 0-1 Chelsea
Palmer is in a similar position from which he scored the opening goal, but with a pair of defenders blocking him this time he rolls the ball over to a completely unmarked Nkunku. The Frenchman steps up to hit a first-time shot towards the opposite post but completely airmails the ball into row Z.

Palmer breaks free down the right side as Rios loses track of him. He sends a cross into the six-yard box for Delap but it's behind him, allowing Fuchs to clear.

Another flashpoint involving Delap as he gets into it with Fuchs. He's certainly forming a reputation with his new team.
53 per cent of Chelsea’s attacking touches have been in the left third of the pitch so far. Definitely a ploy to target that side.
24' Palmeiras 0-1 Chelsea
Neto absolutely blows by Vanderlan on the right wing before whipping a teasing ball across the face of goal. It only needs the slightest of touches to be turned home but nobody is there to do so.
Palmeiras scramble the ball away to safety before Gusto baits Estevao into fouling him near the byline. Chelsea have a free kick in a very dangerous position but nothing comes of it after they play it short.
22' Palmeiras 0-1 Chelsea
Estevao leaves a late one on Colwill near the Chelsea byline. Cucurella tells off his future team-mate before the referee has a word with him too. Estevao eventually helps Colwill back to his feet.
Trevoh Chalobah picks up the assist on the Palmer goal. Chalobah is the only Chelsea player in the current squad who dressed in the last head-to-head meeting between these two clubs back in February 2022.

That is Cole Palmer's first goal at the Club World Cup, and only his second in all competitions since mid-January.
16' Palmeiras 0-1 Chelsea
Palmer makes a lovely turn when receiving the ball, skips past defenders and into the box and slots the ball past Weverton and into the far corner.
13' Palmeiras 0-0 Chelsea
Chelsea have a pair of shots blocked from the edge of the Palmeiras box. As the ball ran away, Delap gave Giay a needless shove to the ground, which prompted Giay to barge into Delap after the play. Fernandez came to Delap's defence and Rios got involved too, but nothing escalated beyond some pushing and shoving.
11' Palmeiras 0-0 Chelsea
Chelsea float a diagonal cross to the back post for Fernandez, but he can only loop his header high into the air. It's a simple catch for Weverton, who quickly releases Rios on a counter-attack.
Rios rides a challenge before slipping Estevao in down the right wing. The future Chelsea player takes on Cucurella and wins a corner, though nothing comes of it.
8' Palmeiras 0-0 Chelsea
Eight minutes into the match and, just like other ones involving Brazilian teams at this tournament, Palmeiras's supporters haven't let a second pass without making tremendous noise.

An early sighter from Palmer goes down as the match's first shot on target, as he forces Weverton into a comfortable diving save.
Hold that thought on Estevao. He is floating and looks more like he is in a No 10 position for Palmeiras. In truth, that probably suits him more to maximise the damage he can cause.
3' Palmeiras 0-0 Chelsea
A very positive start by the Brazilians, who win a corner in the first minute and launch another attack in the second.
Chelsea come the other way a minute later, with Neto impressively skipping past two defenders and into the box before losing the ball.
