June 1, 2026 by quixnet

Day 3 has come to a close, so we are heading out for the night. Here’s a quick rundown of what went down on Sunday and what regionals still need to be decided:

No. 1 UCLA was upset by Saint Mary’s, 6-5, in extra innings on a walk-off single, eliminating them from the NCAA tournament. They become the second No. 1 national seed ever to not make it to a regional final.
The Bruins led 5-4 with two outs in the ninth, before Ian Armstrong’s single that skipped over Mulivai Levu’s glove to tie the game.
Saint Mary’s won it in the 10th. With runners on first and second and two outs, Makoa Sniffen ripped a single to left field past a diving Roman Martin, allowing Cody Kashimoto to score and end the No. 1 national seed’s season.
Little Rock went 3-0 in Hattiesburg to punch its ticket to the school’s first-ever super regional in program history.
The Trojans raced out to a 3-0 lead in the third against Jacksonville State, and after the Gamecocks plated two in the fourth, they tacked on another in the fifth. It occurred later in the game as well, where Jacksonville State scored a run and Little Rock put two more across in the eighth.
They will face the winner of the Gainesville Regional, which will be decided in No. 8 Florida and Troy’s winner-take-all duel on Monday.
Other news:
Here’s all six matchups that will be played on Monday:
Another Game 7 is on the way, as No. 4 Auburn avenged its opening loss to four seed Milwaukee, 8-1, to force a winner-take-all meeting on Monday.
The Tigers took the long route to the regional final, clawing its way out of the loser’s bracket by beating NC State on Saturday and UCF Sunday afternoon. And inadvertently, Auburn has looked better and better by the game.
Game 1 of the regional final was the biggest example of that, holding the Panthers to just four hits and Chase Fralick going 2-for-4 with three RBIs, a home run and double.
Monday’s finale will determine who moves on to play No. 14 Mississippi State in the super regionals.

Southern California stayed alive in the College Station Regional, blowing outNo. 12 Texas A&M with a 14-3 bruising to set up a winner-take-all affair on Monday.
The victory comes on the heels of the Trojans’ 15-4 win over Texas State earlier in the day.
USC jumped out to a 9-1 lead by the fourth, and still didn’t let their foot off the gas until the final out, scoring five more runs in the seventh and eighth combined. Nine players were a part of the team’s 17 hit total, Andrew Lamb had a game-high of five RBIs.
The regional winner will face No. 5 North Carolina next weekend.

The first four seed has stamped its name in the super regionals.
Little Rock won the Hattiesburg Regional, downing three seed Jacksonville State in back-to-back days, to go 3-0 in the program’s historic weekend.
Anytime the Gamecocks punched, the Trojans jabbed back. Little Rock raced out to a 3-0 lead in the third, and after Jacksonville State plated two in the fourth, the Trojans tacked on another in the fifth. It occurred later in the game as well, where the Gamecocks scored a run and Little Rock put two more across in the eighth.
It will be the Trojans first super regionals appearance.
They will face the winner of the Gainesville Regional, which will be decided in No. 8 Florida and Troy’s winner-take-all duel on Monday.

No. 11 Oregon swept the Eugene Regional, claiming its spot in the super regionals for the third time in the last four seasons.
The Ducks were flawless over the weekend, first drubbing Yale 14-2, then shutting out Washington State 4-2 and finally holding Oregon State to one run in the regional final. They beat the Beavers 4-1 behind a three-run seventh inning.
Oregon will head to Austin, TX, next weekend to face No. 6 Texas for what could be the most exciting super regional of the field.

Cal Poly is the second non-national seed to punch its ticket to the super regionals, eliminating Saint Mary’s, 5-2.
It marks the school’s first super regionals appearance.
They accomplished the feat behind a four-run sixth inning thanks to a solo home run by Ryan Tayman and Gavin Spiridonoff’s three-run blast a few batters later. They will play the winner of the Morgantown Regional, which will be decided on Monday in No. 16 West Virginia and Kentucky’s Game 7 meeting.
The Mustangs didn’t face No. 1 UCLA, who lost Saint Mary’s earlier in the day.

Ole Miss’ Dom Decker helped lead four seed Murray State to first ever super regional and Men’s College World Series appearance in the 2025 NCAA tournament, a story for the ages in college baseball.
A year later, the junior lifted Ole Miss to the supers through his extra inning, walk off sacrifice fly to beat Arizona State, 5-4.
They become the first non-national seed to reach the next round.
The Rebels and Sun Devils didn’t give each other any separation in both meetings — the first being a 14-inning marathon on Friday. Today, neither team held a lead over one run for more than an inning. Ole Miss broke through in the 10th, getting runners on first and third with one out before Decker called ball game with the sac fly to left.
They will play the winner of the Auburn Regional between No. 4 Auburn and Milwaukee, who are playing currently.

Brady Neal has sent No. 7 Alabama to its first super regionals since 2023, crushing a go-ahead three-run homer in the 11th to beat Oklahoma State, 9-6, in the Tuscaloosa Regional.
The Crimson Tide and Cowboys, who eliminated USC Upstate earlier in the day, were neck-and-neck the entire evening. Neither team held more than a two run lead for the first 10 innings, and were knotted up at 6-6 entering the extras.
But with two outs in the 11th, Neal unloaded on a 1-2 pitch, sending it over the right field wall to give Alabama its first lead since the fifth.
Oklahoma State fought back, forcing the bases loaded and scoring a run, but was unable to complete comeback. The Crimson Tide will host their super regional next weekend against the winner of the Tallahassee Regional, which will be decided tomorrow between No. 10 Florida State and St. John’s.

No. 14 Mississippi State has claimed the Starkville Regional, going undefeated at Dudy Noble Field and steamrolling past Louisiana 19-5 in the regional final.
It will be the program’s first super regional appearance since 2021, when they won the Men’s College World Series.
Eight players recorded hits in the Sunday victory, six being multi-hit performances. Jacob Parker, Vytas Valincius and Ryder Woodson each finished with four or more RBIs. They will head to Athens next weekend in an SEC meeting against No. 3 Georgia.

Like No. 4 Auburn, No. 10 Florida State has fought its way out of the loser’s bracket to make its third-straight regional final.
And it wasn’t easy, willing itself to Monday through a three-run inning in extras to eliminate Northern Illinois, 7-4.
Tied 4-4 heading into the 10th, the Seminoles put runners on first and third with zero outs, before Hunter Carns sacrifice fly to center field gave them the lead. But his teammate Ben Barrett stole the show two batters later, cranking a two-run no-doubter over the right field wall, just his second homer of the season.
Winning two games on Sunday due to yesterday’s inclement weather, FSU will need to win two more to make the super regionals.

No. 1 UCLA and Arkansas’ regional losses have left just Oregon State as the lone member of the 2025 Men’s College World Series field in this year’s NCAA tournament.
If the Beavers, who are currently playing No. 11 Oregon in the regional final, lose, it would be the first time that the entire MCWS field from the previous year didn’t make it past the regionals.
Here’s a look at how each team fared:
After losing its regional opener, No. 4 Auburn has come back to reach the regional final after eliminating UCF 9-3.
The Tigers scored in six of their eight innings at the plate after falling behind 2-0 early. Seven different players notched a hit in the win, while right-hander Ryan Hetzler tossed three shutout innings in relief.
Auburn now faces a quick turnaround, facing four-seed Milwaukee, who beat them in the regional opener 13-8, tonight in the regional final.

It’s time to celebrate in Lawrence, Kansas.
No. 15 Kansas has punched its ticket to the super regionals for the first time ever, sweeping its regional schedule. They beat Northeastern in the opener and Arkansas consecutively.
The Jayhawks trailed 5-0 after the third, but responded with authority, scoring 11 unanswered runs between the fourth and eighth. The Razorbacks plated five runs to KU’s two in the last few innings, but it wasn’t enough to force a third meeting on Monday.
Kansas will play the winner of the Atlanta Regional, which will be decided on Monday featuring No. 2 Georgia Tech and Oklahoma.

Oklahoma beat No. 2 Georgia Tech at its own game on Sunday, winning 15-8, to force a winner-take-all matchup on Monday.
The Yellow Jackets, who arguably have the best all-around offense in the country, flexed their super power early with a 8-2 lead entering the bottom half of the third. That’s when the Sooners’ offense came alive, exploding for eight runs.
The momentum shifted completely into OU’s favor, adding five more runs late and not allowing a run for the rest of the game behind LJ     Mercurius’ four inning shutout.
They will rematch tomorrow for a spot in the super regionals.

No. 6 Texas is headed to the super regional, defeating UC Santa Barbara after going 3-0 on the weekend, for the 25th time in program history.
The Longhorns scored a combined 41 runs over the three-game slate, the closest win coming against the Gauchos in the regional finale. They won 6-4, scoring two runs in three consecutive innings, paired with 10 strikeouts from a crew of seven different pitchers.
Texas will host the winner of the No. 11 Oregon and Oregon State in the Eugene Regional.
