Minnesota now has some of the worst air pollution in the world according to real-time air quality readings by AQI, at one point Thursday surpassing historically polluted global cities like Delhi, India.
Among major cities worldwide, Minneapolis ranked number one on the list of poor air quality at around 2 p.m. As of 6 p.m., Minneapolis ranks ninth.
As dozens of wildfires continue to burn in northern Minnesota and hundreds more in Canada, the air pollution in Minneapolis is currently listed as hazardous, which means anyone who is outside can be affected.

Anyone experiencing health effects related to poor air quality should contact their health care provider. Those with severe symptoms such as chest pain and trouble breathing should call 911.
