A Massachusetts town was named as the best place to live in the United States, in terms of quality of life, by U.S. News & World Report.
Brookline, a town just west of Boston, takes the trophy. Its neighborhoods include Coolidge Corner, Brookline Village, and Longwood, many of which are accessible via the MBTA Green Line.
Overall, six Massachusetts cities and towns – including the metropolis of Boston – made the media company’s top 25 list this year.
U.S. News & World Report analyzed 856 communities nationwide, based on factors such as crime, quality and availability of healthcare, quality of education, and average commute time.
While the media website ranked Massachusetts as the ninth-best overall state, several of its cities and towns are outperforming communities across the nation.
