US President Donald Trump’s envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner are heading to Pakistan for peace talks with Iran on Saturday, the White House has said.
An Iranian delegation led by Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi arrived in the Pakistani capital, Islamabad, on Friday.
“No meeting is planned to take place between Iran and the US. Iran’s observations would be conveyed to Pakistan,” said Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei.
Iran and the US held high-stakes talks in early April in Islamabad, which ended without an agreement.
