OS X Mail Setup instructions July 27, 2017 by OS X Mail Open OS X Mail. On the Toolbar, click Mail and select Preferences from the menu. Click the Accounts button at the top-left of the window. On the left, highlight the e-mail account you’d like to edit and click the Edit button. To the right you’ll see a few settings: Incoming Mail Server set to pop3.quixnet.net. User Name set to your full email address (in our example, we would put in helpdesk@quixnet.net). Below the drop-down for Outgoing Mail Server, click Options (or Advanced SMTP Options). Outgoing Mail Server: set tosmtp.quixnet.net. Port must be left at 25. From the drop-down beside Authentication, choose Password. For User Name, you must put in your full email address (in our example, helpdesk@quixnet.net). Ensure Use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) is NOT checked. Click OK to save changes. Click OK to save changes. Your email is now set up to send and receive.
