SANTA CLAUS, Ind. — An attraction at an iconic theme park in southern Indiana is the best new attraction in the country, according to USA Today.
Holiday World’s “Good Gravy!” family coaster was named the best new theme park attraction in the USA Today 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards.
Experts nominated their favorite new themed attractions, and readers voted for their top picks, according to a Holiday World news release.
“We are so grateful for the panel of experts for their nomination and our fans for voting,” said Leah Koch-Blumhardt, director of communications and fourth-generation owner. “Good Gravy! is an outstanding addition to our lineup of world-class coasters, and the theme took the ride to another level.”
The gravy-themed family coaster first debuted in May 2024. It’s estimated to cost about $10 million.
The coaster is a 1,500-foot wild ride to save Thanksgiving dinner. Guests will board a train shaped like a giant gravy boat that will travel up a seven stories before being pulled backwards, narrowly avoiding giant kitchen utensils like a 20-foot-tall whisk and an 18-foot-tall rolling pin.
The maximum speed for the ride is 37 miles per hour and there is a 38-inch height requirement, so children as young as three years old can ride along with the whole family.
2025 season passes are on sale now. For more information, visit Holiday World’s website here.
