Florida Atlantic University’s graduate programs have climbed in the 2026 U.S. News & World Report Best Graduate Schools rankings that were released in early April.
The computer science graduate program jumped 27 spots to No. 133, up from No. 160 in 2025. The engineering graduate program rose to No. 142, up from No. 145. The Doctor of Nurse Practice degree program is ranked at No. 86, up from No. 90 in 2025.
The percentage of graduates practicing in underserved areas or health profession shortage areas also saw a significant increase, being ranked at No. 20, up from No. 27 in 2025.

“Florida Atlantic’s graduate programs’ continued rise speaks directly to the university’s ascent in every sense,” Florida Atlantic President Adam Hasner said, in a written statement from the university. “These programs are preparing the next generation of leaders across critical fields throughout our region, expanding opportunity, transforming lives, and driving the kind of innovation that will define our future.”
The Best Graduate Schools rankings by U.S. News & World Report are designed for prospective students looking to further their education beyond college. The rankings evaluate programs in a variety of disciplines, including business, education, engineering, law, medicine and nursing.
U.S. News collects graduate school data annually to provide current figures on enrollment, job attainment, faculty and other critical quality indicators.
