Chelsea lead Flamengo after Pedro Neto fired them ahead in their second group game at the 2025 Club World Cup in Philadelphia today.
The Premier League giants and the Brazilian side both won their tournament openers 2-0, against LAFC of the MLS and ES Tunis respectively, to get their Group D campaigns off to a flyer.
Both will hope to wrap up qualification for the knockout stages today in Pennsylvania.

Cole Palmer says Enzo Maresca does give him creative freedom at Chelsea
65' Flamengo 2-1 Chelsea
It was an assist after a goal for Bruno Henrique, who met a corner swung in from the right and headed it back across the area.
Veteran Danilo was waiting at the back post to slide in and volley it home!

Haha, you love to see it.
Flamengo have turned it around with two goals in four minutes!
This place is rocking right now.
After wasting a great chance on his weaker right foot, Gonzalo Plata's cushion header sets up Henrique at the far post for Flamengo's equalizer. A deserved goal.
65' Flamengo 1-1 Chelsea
You can't say they haven't merited it, Flamengo. They gave Chelsea a warning seconds earlier via Plata and the winger was involved in the eventual goal too.
A nice cross from the right from Gerson to the back post, where Plata was waiting, having kept himself onside.
He nodded it cleverly back across the area, where 34-year-old sub Bruno Henrique was waiting at the back post to tap it in!
Chelsea make some changes in response, Delap off for Nicolas Jackson up front, Reece James off for Romeo Lavia in midfield.

And you have to say it's deserved!
The crowd at Lincoln Financial Field erupts!

Flamengo with maybe their best opportunity of the game.
It's passed from right to left outside the box, Plata latches onto it, he slips as he shoots yet it's still a fine save from Sanchez to tip it over.
But…

By the way, Flamengo manager Filipe Luis, once of Chelsea, has made the first change, Giorgian de Arrascaeta (in the middle of the above shot) off for Bruno Henrique.
Delap's pure nuisance value almost yielded a second Chelsea goal direct from that huge Sanchez kick.
They need to find one, because Flamengo continue to offer reminders that 1-0 is not a safe lead here.

Ooh, close. Leo Pereira and Liam Delap, not on each other's Christmas card lists, tussle underneath a high ball and the Brazilian chips it back towards his own goal, but it's over his own keeper Agustin Rossi…
And drops narrowly wide of goal. Very close to an embarrassing own goal.
Bet Delap would have rubbed that in, too…
Feels like Flamengo won't score today if they can't finish that gift from Chelsea.
Massive chance wasted by the Brazilian club. Might be checkmate if Chelsea get a second here.

Flamengo should be level! I can't believe that they're not!
Wow, it's actually similar circumstances to the Chelsea goal, as a defensive mistake lets an attacker in on goal, Reece James the guilty party this time.
Gerson sprints through on goal, chops back past the desperately recovering Levi Colwill, shoots right-footed across goal, it's destined for the corner but for a brilliant sliding tackle by Trevoh Chalobah.
The ball pops up to Gonzalo Plata, the 24-year-old Ecuadorian winger who was a surprise choice to play up front today. He bizarrely tries a flying volley kick with his left foot but can only poke it horribly wide with the goal gaping.
Use your right foot! You have to feel a genuine out-and-out striker like Pedro would have finished that with his eyes closed…
Sanchez down in pain after colliding with the post in his attempts to keep that shot out.

Good chance for Chelsea!
Gusto is fouled by Ayrton Lucas, Reece James swings in a dangerous free kick from the right, Cucurella nods it wide after not making proper contact on his header.
Centre-backs Trevoh Chalobah and Levi Colwill behind him were queueing up to head it in and both had head in hands after failing to give Cucurella a shout to leave it.
Both were better placed to score! Cucurella, who has been everywhere today, then knocks the lively Wesley Franca off the ball.

Maybe I'm being harsh on someone who is ultimately still only 22 years old.
But Liam Delap should do better, as he is played down the right flank.
Loads of time to think about what he wants to do, where he wants to cross… and it's straight at the defender.
Got to do better.
This Flamengo fan praying to the heavens for an equaliser.
The Flamengo supporters have been so great today. Loud and proud.
We are back into the action here at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pa!
Can Flamengo conjure a goal? Can Chelsea hold on to their narrow lead?
Let's find out.

…from the second half here.
Don't go anywhere!
Flamengo have played some nice football but there’s no cutting edge at the moment. It’s been a fractious contest.
Delap was a booking waiting to happen after his rather bizarre earlier clash with Leo Pereira, who saw the Chelsea striker’s challenge coming a mile off and made the most of it.
A bit naive on Delap’s part, that. Neto, without question, is Chelsea’s most dangerous attacker.
Maresca will be very satisfied with that first half.
Chelsea have matched Flamengo's intensity, defended solidly when required and played some incisive attacking football to earn the lead.
But the moments of indiscipline are becoming a real issue; Caicedo, Neto, and Delap are all one more late tackle or niggly clash away from not finishing this game.
