The news comes as FIFA announced Monday, July 7 it was opening an office at Trump Tower in New York City.
Trump and FIFA president Gianni Infantino have forged strong ties as the U.S. hosts this summer’s Club World Cup and most of next year’s men’s World Cup. The duo has been spotted together at the White House and Florida’s Mar-a-Lago, and Infantino accompanied the president on his trip to the Middle East earlier this year.
Chelsea and Fluminense were duking it out on Tuesday, July 8 to earn a spot in the competition’s showpiece, while Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid will go head-to-head in the second semi on July 9.

It is unclear when Trump will arrive in New Jersey, but the briefing, which puts in place Temporary Flight Restrictions for local aircraft, indicated he would stay in New Jersey through Sunday, July 13.

The FIFA Club World Cup final is taking place at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The stadium, with a capacity of 82,000, is the home of the NFL’s New York Giants and New York Jets. The venue will also serve as the location for the FIFA World Cup 26 final on Sunday, July 19, 2026.
