Debt-laden Chinese property giant Vanke reported annual losses of 49.5 billion yuan ($6.8 billion) on Monday, citing falling sales and shrinking profit margins despite Beijing’s attempts to revive the housing market.

Two dead, four missing in Spain mining accident: emergency services
Two people died and four were missing following an accident on Monday at a coal mine in Spain’s northern region of Asturias, local emergency services said.
Another three people were “seriously injured” and taken to hospital, emergency services in Asturias said in a statement, adding that they had received a call about a “problem with a machine” in the mine. (AFP)
