Maharashtra records deaths of 22 Tigers and 40 Leopards in just four months of 2025
Maharashtra forest minister Ganesh Naik has informed the State Assembly that from January to April 2025, 22 tigers and 40 leopards have died due to various causes, reported ANI.
In addition to these big cats, 61 other forest animals have also perished during this four-month period due to incidents such as road and train accidents, electrocution, attacks by other animals, and unexplained reasons. Furthermore, in the two-year span from 2022 to 2024, the state recorded the deaths of 107 tigers.
Jharkhand: ED probes ex-minister Yogendra Sao in sand mining, extortion case
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Friday conducted raids at multiple locations in Jharkhand as part of a money laundering investigation linked to alleged illegal sand mining and extortion involving former state minister Yogendra Sao and his family.
The searches began early morning at around eight premises spread across Hazaribag and Ranchi. The operation is being carried out under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), according to PTI.

268th session of Rajya Sabha to begin on July 21
The 268th session of the Rajya Sabha is set to commence on Monday, July 21, according to an official notification in the Parliamentary Bulletin.
As per the legislative section, summons for the upcoming monsoon session have been issued exclusively via the Members’ Portal. All members have been informed about the session schedule and designated business days.
This session will cover key legislative matters and is expected to run concurrently with the monsoon session of the Lok Sabha, reported PTI.
